Bought monsoon jeans and shirt on ebay for DS. Came to £8 inc postage. The jeans don't have the buttons that adjust the waist so fall down. Seller first asked me to return all to them but then wouldn't pay postage. They have suggested a 50% discount off purchase price and keep jeans.

I know this is easy but can't decide what to do! I wouldn't have bought shirt by itself, and postage was 3.80. What would you say is a reasonable discount? Thanks!

Did the jeans state that they were adjustable waist?

If its the button that is missing to adjust the waist can you put one on yourself?

can you add a button at the waist yourself?

If you open dispute for not as described because the buttons have been cut off, you should get all the cash back.

Did the listing state they had an adjustable waist?
If it did then you should send the items back for a refund including p&p.
However if it didn't then the seller has done nothing wrong and has been over generous in offering you the discount they have.
Personally I don't think any discount is reasonable unless there was an error in the listing.

If the listing stated that they where ajustable waist then you have a case for snad,if not then you have got what you paid for,can you use a belt ?

Nope, listing didn't state adjustable waist. But is obvious buttons have been yanked off, seller says she didn't even know buttons were there... Just am cross at having spent £8 on jeans that DS won't use - jeans were main reason for buying.

If the their is an adjustable band but no buttons then that is a defect that should have been mentioned on the listing. If you're not going to use them and wouldn't have bought the shirt on its own then I would send back for a full refund including postage costs. If you do send back make sure you send back recorded.
