WWYD? Musty smell in wax jacket...

I listed a Barbour wax jacket last week, I said it was good condition. It does have a musty smell but I thought I would get rid of it easily. It turns out, it's not that easy!

The bid on it is now up £56. What do I do now, if I still can't get the smell out? Do I end the listing and re-list or alter the description to say it has a musty smell (will people bidding know that I've done this)?

I've also posted in Chat asking if anyone knows any other ways to get rid of the smell!

You could try posting in The Tack Room, and asking there.

Try a home dry clean in the tumble dryer? I have heard wax jackets do often have a musty smell but I have never owned one so can't be much help. I use the home dry clean by Dr Beckmann for coats etc and it has had some good results. Works out at about £1.30 for each clean. There may be specialist Barbour cleaners but probably would be fairly pricey.

You may be able to add to your listing before it ends but won't be able to revise completely. Try a home clean and take it from there but check it's ok for wax jackets as maybe you need to be careful with the finish/coating that makes them waterproof?

Managed Returns are making it tricky for selling clothes as you have to refund cost of return as well as all original costs when a buyer wants to return an item.
