eBay

Many buyers ATM? Is it worth listing?

I have a growing pile of things that I've earmarked for ebaying but am struggling to find the inclination to actually list them.

I've not sold anything on eBay since the changes to the postal charges. Prior to this I'd got it sorted and could list things pretty quickly.

Is it worth my while listing on eBay at the moment?

I'm in the same boat - haven't listed anything since the postal fees changes. If there are more like us, maybe that means there's no-one much selling on there so should be loads of buyers?!

the postal costs aren't that big a deal IMO.
i object to the ever-increasing ebay and paypal fees

I don't think the postage has affected things that much, I find lots of things go cheaper. I won't be listing any more shoes though as the postage is just silly.

I have a steady stream of stuff being sold. I agree about the fees though - I notice now its fees on the total cost to the buyer, including postage, which is just wrong.

I've got and Ebid account but any time I've listed on there, nothing has sold.

I've heard also they are stopping free listing days, which if true, means that I won't be using bay much more.

That could be the final nail in the coffin cereal

I only ever listed on free listing weekends.

Me too! I suppose listing with P&P inclusive might attract buyers - I objected to that before as I could not see why P&P should earn Ebay fees!

Thing is, if Ebay just becomes somewhere that has high volume low prices things for sales then it loses the reason why I buy from Ebay - I like the vintage /secondhand clothes market and if that loses its appeal then i won't buy or sell.

I wish Ebid would improve its site and do some marketing as I might then use it again but i'm not even inspired to look on there as a buyer, let alone a seller.

I agree that other sites don't have the traffic of browsers really so ebay is still a bit of a monopoly. I do think sales will be picking up now and have noticed this so I think it is probably quite a good time for OP to get listing especially autumn clothing & bits that might be useful for students. As the xmas bits go into the shops then get toys, gifty bits & tech items ready to list.
