basically I brought a cooker for £160, I'm not made of money and I can't afford to just buy another with 2 young dc in the house!

the cooker was advertised as 100% working order, but it isn't!! the grill is completely out of use, and the heating matrix for the cooker is bust too, not to mention the dials are also broken! I know this because I had a friend who's an electric look at it.

I messaged the seller and she became very rude and defensive, she said she sold the cooker for a friend and now she's saying she sold it for her partner and now she hasn't replied for 3 days!!!

I'm fuming! £160 Is a lot of money for me to have wasted!

she advertised she wanted cash, and so I stupidly paid cash!

where do I stand? how do I contact eBay about this? I'm new to eBay so don't know what to do!!

How did you pay?

Oh, just saw you paid cash. Sorry. You can still start an item not as described dispute through eBay.

Do you have her address?

How was it delivered - did you collect it?

I'm sure you realise paying cash was a big mistake. [Sad]

At the top of the page there is a 'customer support' icon.

You will need to 'go' to the resolution centre and open a case against her.

Be factual in what you say, but give as much information as you can. Use the words in the listing that she used to describe it.

Don't mention the friend or what have you. The contact is between you and her.

nothing that ebay will do - all you can do is take the seller to small claims court to get your money back. ebay cannot make her give you back the money unfortunately.

You can of course leave low feedback and stars

this link is about a vehicle but the principle is exactly the same - tell the seller if they refuse to refund your money you will issue a small claim against them. Do it online. Keep a copy of the original auction - print it out now. And get written proof from your electrician what the faults are with the cooker. Keep copies of everything - any texts etc. The fact they were selling for anyone else is irrelevant so can be ignored

You can still start a dispute against them to put the wind up them.

Orangepudding> Note you say paying cash on collection was a big mistake. When i sell collection only items i always ask for cash as if you get paid via paypal the buyer can open an item not received case and you have no proof. Cash on collection doesn't necessarily means its a con
