Help for dh, please...

We are very excited that dh has been invited to show his work next year at the International Museum of Miniature in Lyon, France.

Since it is quite costly to ship sculpture we would like to show the work elsewhere in Europe before shipping it back to the US and it could be an excellent opportunity for us to visit. (Perhaps I could make it to a MN meet-up for once! )

Our first step would be to identify and contact Museums that might be interested in showing his work. If anyone has any suggestions of museums to contact could you please let me know? His work can be viewed on his website here .

Thanks!

Thanks everyone, I'm glad you like it! Actually, I always tell people I was dh's biggest groupie. I had been to see his work at two different shows and was a big fan before I ever met him.

Congratulations on the offer!

I would suggest that your dh speak to the curator at the museum in Lyon to ask for names/locations of other museums that should logically be approached. The curator of the museum (or whoever it is that has extended the invite to your dh) should have awareness of other museums, and possibly could even give you some names or make introductions for you. Good luck.

Does anyone know anything about the London Transport Museum? Dh is thinking since his work centers around Route 66, gas stations, etc. maybe we could make that connection.

In the UK, Croydon Clocktower or Warrington Museum could be worth a try, plus the museum at Beaulieu. Stockholm's Music Museum might also be worth a try. The London Transport Museum might consider it although they don't do many temporary exhibitions. They are in Covent Garden piazza in London.

I would do some research on Dutch museums - the Dutch love miniatures and have a strong tradition in this area. Museon in Den Haag (The Hague) would be worth contacting. Good luck!

London Transport Museum is closing soon for 18 months while the builders are in - not sure how that fits with your timescales.
