Need to mend my sunglasses!

Right -bastarding- SpcSavers won't repair the nose piece on my sunglasses - the bit of plastic/rubber that help the glasses sit on your nose. My glasses are old, so it may* be that they don't have the right part anymore, but I think they just want me to shell out £100 for a new pair, which I can't afford.

The nose piece is intact, it is just coming away from the frame of the glasses which have a couple of little prongs sticking up which the nose piece slots into. So, I shall have to glue it back on. Any idea what to use to stick plastic/rubber on to a plastic glasses frame? Anyone done anything similar. I can't afford to cock this up!

Oh and a big thumbs down to Sp*cSavers who really didn't want to help me today Sad

Very careful supergluing will do it. You might want to get someone else to hold the nosepiece with tweezers while you glue into the slot

Can you not just buy some replacement nose pads? something like this or apply the glue with the end of a cocktail stick.

CMOT Will superglue be ok on glasses/nose piece do you think? I worry it might be, I don't know, corrosive or something on glasses/nosepiece?

PeterParker I don't really need a replacement nose pad and the ones on my glasses are very specific - quite long, a bit like a greek pi shape, with two prongs on each vertical - so I wouldn't be able to get the 'off the shelf'. I like the cocktail stick applicator idea though Smile

Just seen this! You need a new bridge. Are they branded glasses? Ray ban etc? Specsavers should be able to be replace if not too old. If not, try an independent to get advice. You could try glueing very carefully, but it's a bastard to get off frame and lenses if it squeezes out!
