Just for info, there's a roll back at asda this week.
Extra large chickens £2 off a kilo. I got 1 earlier for £4.50 it will feed 4 for 3 days when your a frugaler like most of you.
Roast dinner, curry and a pasta or soup.xx

Please can someone tell me how to get more than 1 meal and a couple of sandwiches out of a chicken? Or are we just greedy in this house?

How many people?
I take off the legs and wings -make a curry with them, a jar if you like.
Roast the breast whole with some stuffing. Slice up to share out on the plate with veggies & potatoes.
Strip the carcass, don't forget the bits underneath, the oyster bits etc. Add to a tomato based pasta sauce with a bit of smoked bacon & mushrooms, throw in the pasta.

These chickens were massive. One breast was 300g without the bones, cooked.
Does that help?x

There is a lot of good meat under a chicken. Doesn't look that great on the plate so good in a sauce. I'd roast the bird and we have the breast meat with roast, then strip the carcass and that's another meal from an extra large Asda bird, with vegetables adde will be enough for 4 or 5.
