Do the companies that offer cash for clothes turn up/ pay up?

I have a mountain of used boys clothes ages 0 to 3 years. Most of it was passed to us second hand via family so is well worn. I am tempted by websites offering to pay per kilo for used clothes but I wanted to know if anybody had any experience of using these companies.

Has anybody used a cash for clothing type of company and if so did they turn up when they said they would and did they take all clothing even if well worn?

I recently used clothesforcash.com/co.uk (might have been cashforclothes) and they paid 60p per kilo. I got a cheque for about £16 and it didn't take long to arrive. They're based in Scarborough, if that helps you to find them. Would recomnend them and would use again if having a big clear out.

I've used one and they ripped me off. Reckoned most of what I sent was damaged, not good quality etc, bu it was. I'm very funny about making sure stuff is as it should be.
I had just over 10kg, looking at £6, ended up with about £1.78!!

RIP OFF

Thank you, your replies have been very very helpful.

I've got nothing to lose by doing it but i'll be prepared to get nothing out of it since I know the clothes are no longer of good quality.

I also used clothesforcash and had about 90% of my stuff accepted. I got about £12 for a 3/4 full bag.

Update, I used 'Return to Earn' and got about £3.50 for a full bag (so about 1/5 of clothes accepted), my verdict is that they are probably looking for clothes which still look fairly new, we followed all their rules about no stains, no bobbling, no buttons missing etc.

I got £20 for three bags a few days ago. They just took a quick look inside one of the bags, and took everything. Mind you, it was all adult clothes, and had basically just come out of wardrobes and folded into the bin bags.
