I am bf was thinking about ttc dc3 however no periods yet so thought I would do a month of ov tests to see if there is any point trying. I have done them for about a month and seem to be getting + readings roughly every Wed Thur Fri for 3 weeks of my usual monthly cycle.

The test are cheap ones are they malfunctioning or am I likely to have a multiple pg if I ttc now.

Right have checked you cannot ov more than once a month and every other ov pack is giving a positive reading wont be buying cheap ones again

you can occasionally ovulate more than once a month, hence fraternal twins, but both eggs are released within around 24 hours. If you are getting multiple + ov tests, you may have PCOS which can make them unreliable, or you may need less sensitive tests. Just to check though, with an ov test, the both lines need to be as dark as each other, or the test line darker than the control, or its not considered positive. You will get 2 lines on the ov test most of the time, its the darkness of the test line thats significant.
I wouldnt waste money on the expensive ones, they are identical to the cheap ones, just a wider strip with a plastic case, and a lot more £££

Apologies if you already know this: The test lines have to be as dark or darker than the control to be positive. Faint or even medium test lines are not positives.

If you're definitely getting positive for three days every week then it looks like you have unusually high luteal hormones (lh) which could indicate pcos.

If the lh is rising and falling but never 'surging' ie appearing on the test but not coming up positive then it could be your body trying to ovulate but failing because the bf hormones are suppressing it.

I managed to conceive whilst breastfeeding (Ds was 15 months at the time). Although had no idea when I was ovulating and cycles were 6-8 weeks apart. Just tried to have sex 3-4 times a week or whenever I spotted any ewcm.

Good luck.

There were no instructions so which line is supposed to be darker the one by the absorbent end or the other end. Dd is 9months so I am not holding out much hope yet.
