Hi

I am 34 and TTC #1 - literally only started trying on day 20 of this month's cycle (I think I ovulated somewhere between days 19 -21). I am now on day 30. Don't really know when AF due as cycle a bit squiffy after years on the pill but last month had 38 day cycle. For the last 4-5 days I've had low level nausea (not actually been sick but the kind of nausea where you have to take deep breaths until it passes). I've also been constantly burping and gassy and today I had sharp stabbing pain low down my belly on the left hand side (didn't last long though). Finally I have just felt kind of odd - sort of hot, shaky, dizzy - a bit like when your blood sugar level drops and you need to eat something sweet IMMEDIATELY! I've done 3 tests over last 3 days - all BFN. I can't quite believe that we would be successful straight away so am beginning to think these 'symptoms' are all in my head.

Has anyone else had symptoms like these, had negative test results but still been pregnant?

Thank you!

Although it is possible to get negative tests while pregnant, it is much more likely that you are just experiencing the effects of progesterone that rises both in the 2ww after ovulation and in early pregnancy. Your symptoms are in the balance of probabilty more likely to be progesterone rather than hcg. However it could be that you are testing too early and thst the hcg levels are too low to detect too. As I take it that your period would not be due yet?

Very few woment test negative while pregnant beyond a couple of weeks late with their period. But it can happen. Many women do not get a positive test til their period is due.

I hope this helps.

I got preg at first try,at 42,so it could happen that easily.I felt a kind of grinding pain each time I was pregnant, like something burrowing in.No nausea until 6 weeks each time though,I think its unusual to feel nauseous before that. You would probably get a faint line on a test from around 10-12 days post conception ,my first positive test was so faint it just looked like where the line would be if one appeared, iyswim.Test first thing in the morning in a couple of days time, and then a couple of days after that.Good luck!

you can def. feel nausea that early - I clearly remember POAS with DD and then having to get off the loo quick because I needed to be sick.......... happy memories!
Hope you get the answer you want!
