Hi there,

I have been TTC for six months with the fertility awareness method (based on Toni Weschler's book Taking Control of Your Fertility).

Was really hopeful this month (triphasic high-temps from 9DPO) but took a First Response test today (13 DPO) when AF is due and it's negative. Had a chemical pregnancy after three months, and cycles have been pretty upset since then.

Pretty disappointed, esp. as several friends have conceived after only a couple of months following TCOYF. I know it's quite early to be getting worried but I feel like it's never going to happen.

Need to hear some good news stories at this point! How long did it take you to conceive using TYCOF?

Tbh I used sperm.

Why are you putting your life on to this book? It's not healthy. By all means have regular sex, look after your body, eat healthily and take exercise - but there are of course no guarantees. Even if you read a chapter a day religiously!

I found the book really useful, not just in conceiving but in understanding my body and my cycle, and what was normal for me. I think that many women are far too unaware of their bodies and this book was a real education for me.

I think somewhere in the book it does say that even if you time intercourse correctly the chances of falling pregnant on any given cycle, I can't remember what they were but 25% per cycle seems to be in the back of my head, I may be wrong though.

Be reassured that you have managed to fall pregnant, which is a good sign. I'd try and relax (easier said that done, I know- took over a year to concieve DS) and have fun trying
