Hi,

Had MC after 5.5/6 weeks - devastated. So confused as to when to start trying again, do you have to wait 3 months? any advice?

The general advice is to wait for one cycle, but that's just to make the pregnancy dates easier to do. There's nothing to stop you trying right away.

I'm very sorry to hear about the miscarriage. There's a thread here for those of us who are trying again after losses. You'll get lots of help and support during this tough time: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/917342-Just-MC-Long-haul-short-haul-ranting-weeping-laughing- all

Thanks MUser I'll go to that thread now.. so hard to know what to do

also how do you know if your MC is complete etc? I was abroad when it happened - going to my GP next week.. think the bleeding is stopping but now reading about D&C and no idea how to know if i'll need that

With mine I had 2 blood tests to show my HCG was dropping, than waited a week and did a home pregnancy kit. It came back negative and they knew everything was gone. From what I understand, if there's anything still hanging around you don't get a negative result.

As you're early too it's hopefully unlikely you should need a D&C.

I had a premature labour at 21 weeks (1st pregnancy) and am trying again after just a month. I thought my midwife and GP would tell me to wait but they were completely behind my decision as long as I was sure I was ready. I was scared that if I waited I would get consumed by fear and never be a mum. It is still scary and the element of romance goes out the window when your shouting at your other half that it's getting late and you're not missing a day of trying even if the football is on... but hopefully he'll forgive me when we have our baby. Fingers crossed for every one of us trying again.
