2nd false positve from faulty 10miu tests ... beware!

Just a follow up from a previous thread really. I got some ebay cheapies mainly because they were supposed to be super sensitive at detecting early pg being only 10miu. I got a false postive early on in the week and posted about it but yesterday i got another one (closely followed by several negs).

I contacted the seller on ebay about this as they proudly state that they supply the nhs and he asked for the photo of the test (its on my profile - i think you can clearly see a second line) which i duly sent via email. His response was that you cant see anything on the photo because the quality was not good enough and he was just generally really unhelpful and stated that they must have been used incorrectly.

Now i know that out of 15 pg tests that having two giving a false positive is pretty poor, I should have checked the feedback as there are a couple of others with the same problem too.

I just wanted to say it cant be as uncommon as i thought it was earlier in the week because it happened again yesterday and I just wanted to warn everyone as its pretty gutting to think that you are pg (like i did initially) and you arent. These arent even like evap lines they are a clear pink line - beware ebay 10miu cheapies!

Its S/burys hpt's for me next month

So you are definitely not pregnant? Could the differences in the test results be explained by differences in urine concentration?

Belgo I don't see how I can be - I did a first response and a clearblue digital just to make sure and used up the rest of the 10miu tests just to make sure (that's how I got the other false pos yesterday) also both of the tests with two lines had more pink dye in the background of the test.

Give it a few days and then buy a reliable test!

I know it's hard, but it's best to wait until your period is a good few days late before testing.

If your period isn't here yet then you don't know that it's a false positive. You could be pg, you could also be experiencing a chemical pregnancy. Then there's user error to consider.

It's very difficult to know but generally the early detection 10miu ones are as reliable as any other hpt. They are used by the NHS and are just cheap because they don't have fancy packaging etc.

There is, of course, the possibility that the seller you used is dodgy. I always bought from here and never had a problem. Have recommended it to many friends and all have been happy too.

I think I said this on your other thread but I had a positive with dye in the background and it was accurate but I have read that dye spread over the test area can sometimes indicate user error.

It just seems really odd that there were two false positives in one batch thats all. I wish i had read the feedback as this would have given me some indication that they were unreliable. Showofhands thats not the seller i used and i used them all in the same way, dipped only to the line ect ect so i cant imagine that i would have made the same error twice. Its the first time ive used them and i wont be again as I have never had a false positive from shop bought ones before (although im sure it happens with them too)

My AF is a good two days late and i am not usually so i think any pg would have definately showed by now belgo and i got that false positive followed by two negs from the same sample so it cant be down to urine concentration iyswim. Stressy month so maybe thats why i am late, getting the usual AF pains in preparation as well so probably not far away.

I just wanted to make sure that if anyone else got a postive and there was alot of dye in the background that it might be worth retesting just incase.

I think if the seller has a lot of feedback saying the same thing then they are not to be trusted.

Sellers like the one I linked to have brilliant feedback from 30,000+ buyers and are extremely reliable.

It's like buying anything on ebay I suppose.

Good luck with getting pg, it's a stressful time.
