Conception

If it took you a long time to conceive dc1, how long did it take you to conceive dc2?

I'm just wondering because it took me a few years to conceive ds. It ended up with us being referred for IVF after being on clomid for nearly a year but luckily I found out I was pregnant just before the IVF appointment.

I would really love another baby but I'm unsure what to do. DS is nearly 10 months and I'm worried if it happened straight away it might be too much for me to cope with (had a c-section which is still sore at times, and spd) but on the other hand if it took another 3+ years I'd better get a move on because I don't want a massive age gap. Also aware it might not happen at all as the reasons for our previous infertility were major sperm morphologhy problems and no ovulation from me apparently and I don't know if it was a miracle ds was conceived naturally.

So what I'm asking is if it took you 2 years plus to conceive your first child how long did it take you to conceive the second or third? And what (if any) were the issues surronding infertility the first time and how were these overcome the next time round?

Hope that all makes sense, I realise everybody is different but I am just interested to hear your stories. Thanks

4 years to conceive the first, like you just before being referred for treatment.

After a 3 year gap, no 2 took 6 months of not-really-trying. ie it probably happened within about 3 "goes" IYSWIM . No one was more surprised than me!

Thanks gaelicsheep, that's really positve news. Can I just ask what you're orginal reason was behind it taking so long?

You mean the 4 years? No reason apparently, although a scan did eventually pick up possible PCOS. I do have a retroverted uterus which can apparently make it more difficult to conceive. But really I think it was just one of those things.
