I'm just wondering whether anyone has made any radical (or not so radical) changes to their diet whilst TTC and whether you can recommend a good source of information on this.

I've been TTC for no 2 for 7 months now with no success and am looking for positive things I can do to make me feel I'm taking control of the situation, without wanting to go on such a strict regime that the whole of my life (even more than now ) is about TTC, ifyswim!

I stopped being a vegetartian as my doc recommended more B vitamins in my diet, I did not want to take supplements so starting eating meat. Also took multivit/minerals for conception that included folic acid. Took more exercise and sleep and OH also cut out alchol and coffee.

good luck.

hi there,

I am changing my diet because I am baout to have IVF. I am following this which has some diet stuff on it.

Have also cut out alcohol and am trying to dringk 2-3 litres of water a day. Also haven't been drinking caffine.

Basically after trying for more than 2 years to get pregnant I am giving it my all in preparation for the IVF.

Am also drinking herbal teas and upping my protein so eating more fish. Also my acupuncturist said to eat porridge as oats is good for blood circulation.

I'll let you know if it works!

Zita west (who put together the thing I linked to) says Traditional Chinese Medicine suggests you concentrate on the Kidneys and eat more seeds and nuts, foods high in in essential fatty acids and royal jelly. Also Wholegrains, fresh vegetables, Oats, beans and pulses, free range eggs etc

Hi Lilysma - I have heard Green tea is good - as a coffee substitute and to improve EWCM. I am not a fan of it personally, but I drink some every day now...

hmm, interesting, but it does have caffeine in it, no? suppose it depends how 'bad' you think caffeine is. it's a minefield it seems to me!

There's caffeine in it?! Arrgghh. Ignore me then.

I am drinking Nettle tea, not sure if it has caffine in it.

Well as far as I know green tea has caffeine in it, but I'm not an expert! I just know I have been buzzing after spending long meetings in China drinking mug after mug (thinking it was non-caffeinated) and was told it's because of the caffeine!

Better to play it safe with vile grapefruit juice then I guess...
