5 First Response negatives but overdue

I'm now a day overdue and have taken 5 First Response tests over the last week (the most recent yesterday) - all negative. I have no pre-menstrual symptoms apart fro a sore lower back (which I don't usually get). Could I be pregnant? Has anyone had false negatives with First Response?

I was a week late recently and took pregnancy tests from 1 dpd until 6 dpd and they were all negative.
I booked a doctor's appt when I was a week late (in my case I did not want to be pregnant, was not sure if I could be and wanted to know if anything wrong) and Doctor told me that a false negative was very unlikely with a pregnancy test, esp at 6 dpd.
You are only 1 dpd, so maybe pregnancy tests could be wrong and if you want to be pregnant then maybe leave it a couple of days and try again.
Good luck

I think most tests today are pretty reliable from day period is meant to start. However (apologies if you already know your cycle inside out/how cycles work/the science bit, please ignore all the following if so) there are a couple of possibilities.

a) it is possible you ovulated late in your cycle so you might not actually be late as such yet.

or

b) Like me and lots of others, you may differ to the average cycle the tests are based on.

eg. My cycle is 28 days and I ovulate on day 17. That means my period usually starts 11 days past ovulation (DPO)

Most tests work on a basis that the average woman has a 28 day cycle, ovulates on day 14, then period starts 14 DPO.

If I tested on my due date at 11 DPO I am still 3 days "early" than the average woman so I might not get a positive test until I am 14 DPO like the average, by which point I will be 3 days "late" (as it were).

I would wait and test again in a few days. Personally I haven't had especially clear results with First Response in the past but I have found Clearblue (ordinary and digital) to be excellent, as is Tesco's own (not Boots though, tiny tiny windows. Hope you get the result you want

I used first response yesterday (day my period was due) and got a bfn but no pre-menstrual symptoms and starting to feel a little queasy at the thought of some foods...hmmm...

i strongly suggest you wait a while and test again, try not to get your hopes up too much, its really early days. about 7 months ago i had 2 52 day cycles (so missed 2 periods) my dh and i were ttc and i was going crazy for 28 days (each cycle) thinking i was pregnant, i used so many tests. my mind was playing tricks on me and i thought i was having so many pregnancy symptoms. with every negative came a hopeful thought that my hormone levels wernt high enough yet so will get the positive i dreamed about tomorrow. its now 7 months on and we still havent conceived, iv learnt to relax a little as the disappointment is so awful, i hope you get the positive you want x x
