Hi, am on clomid ttc no2 after very successful 1st attempt on it for dd. Spoke to dr for 21 day blood test results & was told i'd ovulated but have had negative pregnancy tests & no sign of a period. My Dr said that i might not get a period even though i'd ovulated. Wasn't till i'd relayed this info to dp, that the penny dropped & i should've asked. I have since had a period but can't help wondering what the dr thought would happen to the egg?

How strange. I'd never heard of not getting a period in these circumstances.

I guess the egg would just die and either be absorbed back into your body or come out when - eventually- you do have a period.

I'd be wondering that too, just because my understanding is that ovulation - which is not followed by fertilisation - is what causes periods. Maybe I'm wrong though, I'm certainly no expert.

I had my period as (I thought) normal but then had pain etc leading to dx of EP. Didn't bleed any more and hcg levels dropped to nothing so it had definitely gone away. When I asked the doc she said the embryo would have been reabsorbed into my body.
