OK, brief summary: TTC2, cycle 4, AF due Sunday, got too impatient and tested yesterday, got BFN and was all focused on next month then... tmi alert - got some bleeding this morning (but of the brown 'old' kind) which is a) early and I'm often late but never early b) I had no period cramps, which I always get.

Am I right in saying that HCG levels don't start to rise until after implantation? And if so, could I have tested too early (sceptical about this cos I used a first response test)?

it sounds to me like implantation bleed if i was you i would do a test on sunday morning.
