This is my first month TTC and I am beginning to get symptoms - probably nothing but was hoping for some advice as it may be all in my head.

Literally just finished ovulating (though not 100% on this as haven't started temping etc as wanted to try and keep relaxed this first month - not that I have been but didn't want to scare hubby!!). For the last day and a half have felt cramping pretty much constantly - its far too early for af cramps and to be honest I never normally have them badly anyway and this feels different. Also, definitely feeling a bit queasy this morning!

Surely its too early for symptoms...and I can't test for at least a week...ahhh...already gone baby bonkers and its only month 1!!!

That's weird - I am in pretty much the same position and feeling slightly ridiculous. Only came off the pill in early/mid Jan so thinking it could all be my hormones.

Am "technically" on CD19 although I suppose I could have ovluated earlier due to ust coming off the pill and the supposed "fertility surge".

Anyway, I am feeling a bit queasy and have indigestion and also "watery mouth" and seem to have gone off certain foods. Also had some small cramps and sore nipples(TMI sorry)! Also feeling a bit dizzy and faint although have been a bit fluey so it could well be that. I just feel stupid as it MUST be too early and in any event, it is probably just my hormones being mad.

So sorry not to be of much help but I know what you are feeling!

Am so glad someone else is feeling it! I guess when you want something so badly then your mind/body can play tricks on you. Wish there was an instant test and then I could stop thinking about it! Will have to try and learn some patience and wait a week or two(never my strong point!). Still, will keep my fingers crossed for us both.

Yes I feel exactly the same! And I am also possibly one of the least patient people in the world...Fingers crossed.

Hello ladies,

I'm on CD21 and have been feeling some symptoms for the past 3 days. Feel overwhelmingly tired (although with 4 & 6 year old off school due to snow it could well just be that). Also have excessive salivating (that's a horrible word don't you think?), and when I went to have a glass of wine last night it tasted really wierd and not nice at all (DH assures me it was a lovely bottle of wine). My skin has turned into that of my 16 year old self - really really spotty. So far boobs OK. THinking its probably just me looking for signs but am going to do a first response test tomorrow (6 days before period due). THink that maybe somewhat premature but I just can't wait and a friend of mine had a BFP with first response 6 days before she was due. Bought a twin pack, if tomorrows comes back negative will do another on Sunday (4 days before).

I also came off the pill early Jan, CD22, first month ttc.

Sore boobs, sensitive nipples and generally tired a couple of days following ovulation. These "symptoms" lasted about 4 days but have now eased off - still slightly sore nipples but that's about it. Is it possible this is caused by the after effects of the pill/cycle "resetting" itself?

I'm determined to wait until the day my period is due to test - 7 long days and counting!!

Loving pickles - sounds very similar in timing to me too. Am just telling myself it is the pill/hormones as it really would be remarkable to get pregnant so quickly! Oh well, we shall see - about 11 or so days or me I think.

Are you just guessing your cycle length as being 28 days even though you (and I) won't actually know for sure what it is due to reently coming off the pill?

Report
lovingpickles · 05/02/2009 14:05

Yes, have guessed cycle is 28 days but did have "egg white" discharge on day 14 so figured I couldn't be too far off.

Reading MN it seems quite a few women fall pregnant in their first cycle off the pill...I'm probably being a bit too optimistic but you never know! I've got everything crossed!

I fell pregnant with DS1 first cycle off the pill. Wasn't even thinking about cycles or timing "snuggles" with ovulation. Fingers crossed for you.

Hi all - any news? (Watching carefully as am in same boat, three days of lots of saliva and feeling a bit queasy, a bit off food but refusing to test as cannot seriously believe it will happen in month 1)

Nothing yet - haven't tested, and probably won't for a good few days yet - assuming my cycle is a regular length (which obv I don't know), my period would be due on Sat so no point testing yet. My husband thinks I shouldn't bother testing until after period is due anyway as he says that is usually how you know!

Having some period-like pains v low down so thinking that it is probably just that (had them since Sat) and am being a bit pickier about which food I fancy eating (and I am NOT fussy), but I expect it is just hormones and/or my imagination!

yep it's hard to tell whether I am actually due too - overdue if I should be counting from last period but coming off pill may throw it off - other mumsnetter said hers was two months coming during which time she had premenstrual symptoms almost solidly. That's more what I am expecting!

Kingsroadie · 09/02/2009 14:37

Oh, what a bore - hope that doesn't happen! Have you tested yet then?

Hi,

Didn't end up testing in the end until today...BFN, however, only CD25 so am now going to leave it for a week or so. Like you say VAM - it would be amazing to fall pregnant the first month of trying. Just a few more days to be patient......

I did test about a week or so after BD as I had to take some antibiotics - I know it was too early, I'm not sure why I did really. Haven't tested since, I think if I do test it will be a slippery slope to manaically testing and obsessing. Most of the time I feel perfectly normal (well, as normal as I get) so in those times I scoff at my "mad" self for thinking about trying.

Out with some boozy friends on Weds - if no AF by then will test using the "better safe than sorry but I don't really think I could be, of course" mantra.

I know what you mean - don't know why I couldn't just wait until AF was late to test - its really tough, just want to know as soon as possible. I have a massive reunion thingie on Saturday night - BIG BIG booze up...would like to bet that AF will turn up on Sunday morning, after spending the whole night abstaining but trying not to look like I am (don't want any awkward questions). Will your friends wonder why you're not drinking VAM?

VeryAnnieMary · 10/02/2009 11:35

Oh they'd twig immediately - one's a friend who was very not bothered about kids, had her DS about a year ago and is now evangelical about parenthood and nagging me more than my mother!

It's all a "moo" point (as Joey would say) as AF arrived last night. Am curiously relieved, though still inexplicably feeling a bit saliva-ridden and sick. Wonder if it's to do with the new preg vitamins I'm taking.

Keep us posted Amanda!

Hi everyone, any news?

Josie22 · 11/02/2009 13:12

No AF and still getting the slight cramps. Took a hpt on sunday but negative but knew it would be as too early to test(had to do something to stop my mind obsessing!!). AF due tomorrow but not feeling too many symptoms (I normally get the worst PMT!). Probably just wishful thinking though. Its amazing how your body can play tricks on you.

Baby dust to all...

AF due tomorrow. I'll do a test out of curiosity if it doesn't arrive although I'm pretty convinced I'm not pg - symptoms I had a week ago are gone and just feels like good old pmt...will keep you posted. Fingers crossed Josie and others still waiting patiently...

Kingsroadie · 11/02/2009 13:59

I think mine is due Sat (assuming have normal 28 day cycle after coming off pill). Will test then but pretty sure am not pg.

Did a sneaky test on Monday at the end of the day - and I drink loads of water all day - and was negative (surprise). Was also First Response but probably was too early even for that one. However, I imagine I will gate same result on Sat...Am too impatient for words!

Nope - no luck here either! Period arrived on Sat, exactly 28 day cycle then... Think the "symptoms" were just my body adjusting to coming off the pill. At least I have a better idea of my cycle length now!
