After an emotional weekend, my partner and I are going to start trying for a baby soon. I'm worrying it's going to be harder than I think, so can anyone recommend every tip possible for getting pregnant?

When is it easiest, how will I know when I'm ovulation etc? Sorry, I'm clueless when it actually comes down to it.

I just want to make sure I'm as prepared as possible and in the right position...

I'm 23 and he is 28.

I can't help it- sorry, but HAVE SEX!!!!! lots!!! 3-4 times a week and make sure you take a folic acid supplement. You're 23, by the laws of averages its a great age to conceive, so don't initially worry about 'tips'. good luck!

Don't worry at first. Have sex. Lots of it.

If you want to know more, read Toni Weschler's Taking Charge of Your Fertility. Excellent book.

Lots of sex and not getting too worried too soon ! Having said that I also used Zita West's guide to getting pregnant. It has a plan "A" where she talks about working out when you ovulate and generally about making sure you and your partner are as healthy as possible and a plan "B" which is for when you have been on plan A for a while and it isn't working. Don't read that section though until you need it! I used it to make sure we maximised our chances of conceiving and fortunately never had to read part "B".

BTW as well position does not come into it. Legs in the air post intercourse is not necessary either; enough sperm will get to the cervix from where they cannot escape.
