Hi
After ttc my 2nd dc for over a year and having experienced absent periods sometimes missing months at a time and a high fsh diagnosis I have been put under investigation for either early menopause or premature ovarian failure by the fertility clinic.
The fertility clinic told me that early menopause and ovarian failure are two different things where premature ovarian failure can be treated and menopause cannot.
They put me on a months supply of hrt to give the ovaries a rest from the constant hammering off the pituitary gland which is desperately trying to spur my ovaries into action hence the high fsh.
Apparently the hrt was designed to switch off my pituitary gland giving the ovaries a rest and then sometimes they start working again on their own after this rest.
After I had finsihed this months supply I had to wait and see if I got a cycle and 4 days after I finsihed the hrt I did get a cycle after a 5 motnhs absence I took this as a good sign as the fertility told me that if I did get a cycle then it probably meant I was not in menopause but ovarian failure and that things should be okay.
I have also recently just had another cycle and that was with no hrt or anything and it was a normal 32 day cycle which has been pretty unusual for me for the last year or so.
Do you think this means that that months supply of hrt did the trick and my ovaries have now woken up and I am ovulating again.
I have had a day 21 test and shoudl get the results of that tomorrow as I have another appointment at the fertility clinic.
Do you think things are looking good for me.
Please any insight would be good as I am going silly thinking about this.
I am interested to see what they ahve to say about me now at the clinic but even if they do say that it looks as though my ovaries may be working again I am still not pregnant after 14 months so what on earth should my next step be.

Hi Lostitoday. I'm afraid I don't have any answers for you as haven't experienced what you are going through. Just wanted to bump the thread for you.

Just wanted to say that I really really hope you get the answers that you do desperately need. Personally I would go to the clinic armed with a notepad and pen and a list of questions that you want answered.

Lets hope one of the medical professional ladies might be along soon to help you.

Wishing you all the best on your journey. And hoping that there's a BFP at the end of it.
