bumping this one becuase now have spotting on day 25 then AF D28 could i have low pregesterone / short luteal phase (I have been reading the threads and now not sure if this is a problem?)

I had a scan recently (since mid cycle tenderness) and no problems. i plan to start TTC by end of year!

my cycle is normal 27/28. this month i ovulated late and so hopefully it will be 33 ish this month otherwise i could have a short lp, which i am now in a panic about if you have seen me on other threads. Can't understand why body is ok when not ttc and then when you do it plays up. maybe the stress?

bump means they are just posting to bump the thread to the top.

My cycle was 23/24 days and my luteal phase was very short.

Yentil - Do you know when you ovulate? It's worth trying to find out as you'll get an idea of what your luteal phase length is. 10 or more days should be ok.

yentil this has happened to me too just recently. I am usually bang on 28 days but last but one cycle ago I had a 25 day cycle, with spotting starting on CD24 which is unheard of for me. Have no idea why my cycle changed, I have done nothing "different". Next cycle I was back to the usual 28 days but with spotting starting at CD25 which I never used to get at all (& confused me no end). I am not reading too much into it, wondering if due to stress I had an anovulatory cycle (getting very little sleep for various reasons, & realise all women have occasional anovulatory cycles without anything being "wrong") and hoping it was just a blip. I think if your cycle stays short when it used to be longer you could ask the GP to test your hormone levels or get your thyroid function checked.

spats- "bumping" is to push a thread back up the list or into the Active/Recent conversations search results so more mumsnetters see the thread. Saw a few of your other messages and would really say try not to worry about low progesterone etc etc. as I really do believe we all have strange cycles occasionally without anything more sinister going on. Stress can have a major effect on ovulation/hormone levels so try to chill (know it's easier said than done!!).

Good luck with TTC all xx

It could also mean that for some reason you have ovulated earlier than you usually do I think?

beanieb- yes forgot to mention that- I'd think that's probably the most likely cause of a shorter cycle. I'm sure I read somewhere that the phase of the moon can affect ovulation (not completely unfeasible I guess!!) so perhaps that can push ovulation a couple of days early....Guess lots of things can affect it really.
