No ideas, I'm afraid!

But surely worth mentioning to the consultant? Good luck with it, and sorry to hear of your losses

Hi Lissie,
Definitely worth mentioning. This happened to me for a bit a while ago and was told it was luteal phase deficiency. Don't know if that was correct or if it's correct for you. Something to do with progesterone dropping off a bit too early. Apparently easily treated with hormones. I went on the pill and then got pregnant as soon as I came off and the problem never returned.

Hi Lissie. I don't know what causes it, but I had this problem when I was ttc. I drove me bad because I used to convince myself it was implantation bleeding. Sometimes I'd get the spotting and then nothing for a good couple of days. You can guarantee that the day I did a pg test my period turned up about an hour later . I had a couple of very very painful and very very late periods in this time which I believe were early m/c's.

What did happen is that I had a scan and it showed possible polycystic ovaries. The investigations never got any further though, because bizarrely I then conceived naturally. Definitely, definitely mention it.

It did indeed drive me bad, but I meant to say mad.

thank you. have done a bit of googling and it talks about low progesterone a LOT, and a lot of the syptoms tie in with our problems.

I always get this. I was told it was due to progesterone levels falling

thanks mears. which would explain my early mc's (often between 4-6w)

I don't know if you saw this site Lissie (and I don't know how reliable it is) but this has just answered a lot of questions for me. My dr said my progesterone levels were OK (when he finally tested me at the right time on the third attempt) but I think he was just testing for ovulation. And since soon afterwards I had the scan and then got pg I didn't think about it that much.

My former job was very very stressful and I always thought it played a part. According to that website it almost certainly did.

I hope you too get some answers soon.

I think my answer is just going to bring up more questions for you lissie! I have a short LP of just 10 days. It wasn't unusual for me to spot the day before my period. Got pregnant in January and miscarried - but not until 11 weeks (in March). It was a missed mc (fetus measured 7 weeks) and as far as I can tell that has nothing to do with progesterone deficiency. Last month I started spotting on 8dpo! And then finally got my period 11dpo, which meant my LP was still 10 days as always. As it was only my second cycle since my mc, I just chalked it up to my hormones being out of whack. Hope that helps.

Cervical erosion?

I had it when TTC DS2. It is nothing to worry about but I was assuming the bleeding was the start of the period and it wasn't so not calculating ovulation days properly. Blood tests were all fine.

Apparently it is something to do with the lining of the womb slipping down over the cervice (or something like that - it was 5 years ago). It cleared up all by itself although I think some linger and may eventually need surgery if they cause a lot of bleeding.

I hope that it is something that simple - doctor diagnosed it by having a quick peer at my cervix and it really isn't a big deal.

Wanted to add that I don't have PCOS - asked when I was in for my mc if everything looked normal up in there and they said yes, all normal and nothing to prevent me from becoming pregnant again.

Lissie While your O date may change, your LP shouldn't really vary more than a day or two each cycle. What method are you using to determine O? Think it might be a good idea to see your doctor.

Hi. Twinklemegan, that website is really good. I can relate to a lot of symptoms there. My Dr has just started investigations for possible PCOS with me (Day 21 blood tests are being taken on Thursday), and the website is really useful. I'm going to let some friends know about this too

Hi Lissie! This thread caught my attention because I've had exactly the same problem (if it is a problem)- regular as clockwork since a teenager and never any spotting. Then, about 6 months ago I started spotting for up to 3 days before AF.

I'm afraid I can't help with answers but just wanted to say that I seem to have gone back to normal for the last couple of months. The spotting did co-incide with a very stressful time at work, so perhaps the site Twinklemegan found was right.

Hopefully it will put itself right for you.
