Hiya all,
I had to have some blood taken today for tests RE another non pregnancy complaint. The Doctor has said they will also do some tests to check my hormone levels while they are at it. She knows I am TTC and have been for 4 months, and said that they don't normally do these tests unless someone has been having trouble conceiving and that 4 months is really nothing to worry about but it's worth just checking while they are doing the other tests.

Anyway - what are these hormone tests?

Not really sure... depends where you are in your cycle.
If you are 3/4 of the way through your cycle it could be what is called the Day21 test... that tests the progesterone level to see if you have ovulated.
Could be your thyroid, as that can affect ttc.
Day1/3 tests check Follicle Stimulating Hormone I think, although I have never had that checked, so not certain.

Did you see your blood card? Should have the tests the GP wants done ticked on there.

she's doing some tests I am guessing on blood cells count and Liver functions etc. The ones I am interested in are the ones she specifically offered to do to 'test your hormone levels'. She said it was a routine hormone test they usually offer women who have been trying for over a year without success. I am guessing it has something to do with whether I am still fertile or not.

I wonder if there is a test for your ovarian reserve? I have heard of it, but not usually through the NHS? Sorry I can't be of any more help to you. Good luck
