Dh had a vasectomy in October and we took his first sample off to be tested yesterday so haven't had the all clear yet.

I was on day 11 of my cycle yesterday when we got carried away . I conceived my last child by having sex on day 11 of my cycle, my first child on day 14.

I would be over the moon if I were pg again, dh wouldn't be so giddy, but he would of course be happy. He got caught out by last night as he's always made sure we've used protection up until now.

We decided on the vasectomy for many, many reasons, some of which I regret now, having had it done so soon after the burth of my last child, but they were all good, solid, sound reasons that are still good solid and sound now, I just can't shush my biological clock.

Anyway, it's highly unlikely isnt' it?

Have name changed as am a little embarrassed and feel a bit silly.

Its possible, it takes 3 months for all the sperm to be flushed out. It only takes 1 tiny wiggler. It is unlikely, but we are talking about Christmas time and unexpected births etc.
If you are congratulations and I'm glad you arn't to against it.

We were told it would take 3 months of 3-4 ejaculations a week to clear the backlog so to speak, which dh has had one way or another (sorry if tmi!), so I wouldn't say I was all that convinced it's going to happen. But on the other hand, we have a history of being v v fertile - 3 pregnancies in 3 years, all conceived either on the first or second time unprotected.

If I'm 100% honest, at this moment in time I would love to be pg again even though I know it would be v v hard on us financially, hard on our other children who are all so small, and hard in many other ways.

I still believe we did the right thing in having the vasectomy and we have a fabulous little family as we are....but tell that to my ovaries! They are mad for it!

Anyone else around willing to reassure me I'm not going to be waving a positive test stick at dh in 3 weeks time...?

you had sex
you haven't been given the all-clear
you may be pregnant
you may not

you only have a 1 in 4 chance of conceiving any cycle anyway

and I'd say the odds are stacked against you being pregnant

but then again you never know

If you were a racehorse and pregnancy was 'winning the race' you'd be a rank outsider but worth an each way bet
