Okay.

DH has had the snip and I am not late
(albeit last 2 periods have been different.)

But have had a funny taste in my mouth for a while now, boobs are busting to get out of my bra and it would be just our luck.

I already know I am a bit off the planet but how likely is it I am with child? What is the failure rate for the snip?

God is there something in the water round here? I think there is going to be a population boom next summer!

Don't know about failure rates of the snip but I have heard in rare circumstances the two ends of the tubes can join back together.

You'll know for sure if you do a test though!

Failure rates of vasectomies are about 1 in 100. By your periods beingt different do you mean very short and light?

Report
Iknowitismad · 31/10/2007 14:16

Mmm. Shorter definitely.

It is possible you are pregnant, although unlikely I would have thought.

Have you been putting on weight? If you have had 2 of these different periods you could be nearly 3 months by now so you may well be putting on weight.

I had one of those weird periods that aren't really periods with DS1.

Any nausea or tiredness?

Really, if you have got as far as wondering on MN I think the only thing to do it a test.

Would it be a really bad thing if you were or just not what you wanted at this stage in your life?

did DH have his test to make sure he was sperm free?

if it is 2 weeks since you had sex, you can do a test

Last month I was convinced I was pg - my period was a bit late and I had this funny metallic taste in my mouth which I have never had before. I wasn't - don't know where the metallic taste came from

I would just test

Bleeding gums (VERY common!) can cause the metallic taste.

I once "felt a baby move" and rushed out to an all night Asda, 2 months after DH's vasectomy all clear. Was convinced I was 4 months gone!

Worse still, the test was one of those wehre BOTH spots go pink. .and if it's negative, one drains away.. but I hasn't read that and spent 30 very long seconds thinking i was pregnant.. which would have been deeply unfortunate!

Those "fake kicks" are weird.. only happen to women who have given birth I beleive..

I had a weird period that wasn't when I was PG. But PG isn't the only cause for light periods, and it's still pretty unlikely you are PG. Get a cheap test, and find out one way or the other.

I've had that fake kick thing, SHPSH. God it's weird.

I've felt a phantom baby kicking so many times. It's such an odd experience but it does seem to be quite common.

I have had in the past feelings like a baby is moving!

I would be disasterous for us if I was pg, for lots of reasons. If the baby could just appear that would be fine, pg and labour is what is not great for us.

Where can I get a really cheap test from?

Have had bleeding gums these last 2 days too.

DH has had a letter to say he is clear....

Home Bargain? Poundland? Otherwise would think Asda or Boots would have a cheap one i.e one for less than a fiver.

THe phantom kicks! OMG!
I couldn't believe it when I got them (I knew I wasn't pg though)
I never had anything like it before ds
What is that about then??

Maybe it is psychological?? I turned over in bed and I swear I felt a babies limb stick out.

Sorry to gatecrash but are bleeding gums an early sign of pg then?

To the OP - agree the only way to find out is to test

Tatties · 31/10/2007 19:26

The phantom kicks are mad aren't they? I think it is mother nature playing tricks

Report
ShinyHappyPurpleSeveredHeads · 31/10/2007 20:28

Well.. a metallic taste is common in early pregnancy.. and inflamed mucus membranes happen throughout the whole of pregnancy.. (that includes senstive gums/ that's why you get free dental treatment during pg and up to the baby's first birthday) but I'm not actually sure if the metallic taste that pg women complain of is always the result of bleeding gums. It may be.

WHY am I on all these pregnancy threads>! I even started one!!

Report
ShinyHappyPurpleSeveredHeads · 31/10/2007 20:29

I think it's wind (the "kicks") actually.. but once you have felt the kicks of a baby, you subconcious likens them to baby kicks without you actually thinking it through!
