as most of you know i have had 5 mc's and 1 ep in the last 2y, after all of my other mc's (and even my ep) my body got back to normal pretty quickly.

i had my last mc in june and my cycles havent been right since. periods have been heavier and erratic, i now spot beforehand (never did before) and the pain is horrendous (really agonising for the first 4d) they are also longer and heavier.

this month ive had pain in my left (tubeless) side (1st day of period) its been so bad that if i didnt know that the tube had gone i'd be calling A&E fearing another ruptured ep.

WTF's going on? have i just put my bodybthru too much or do you think there is something really wrong?

Sorry Lissie, no idea but did not want you to go unanswered.

Any chance of getting an appointment with your GP or the hospital where you were treated?

I have always had horrendous period pains, but then I have always had horrendous period pains

if it is new to you then you need to get it checked

and lets face it - they owe you big time

I would ask your GP to be referred to a gynae as a matter of course.

I feel you should be seen by a gynae specialist to investigate the possibility of either endometriosis (this can be a cause of very painful periods) and or fibroids (these can cause heavy bleeding) being present.

Any bleeding between periods should be checked over medically. Do seek medical advice from a gyane asap.

Lissie, it is also possible that your body is changing a little bit simply because you are the age you are (not menopause I hasten to add). I've spent a good few days reading on this lately because of some weird stuff heppening to my body lately, related to menstrual cycle. We are roughly the same age, and I've read that from about now your cycle just changes a bit, nothing sinister. My periods got longer, heavier, more erratic, with spotting, and more pain than normal when I was about your age. Basically everything you listed in your OP. A couple of years on and they are still the same but this month I am having agonisingly painful boobs to add to the equation [eye-roll]. I went to my GP a couple of times when all of the above started and they didn't believe there was anything to worry about, just normal changes. Obviously because of your history I would still go and see your GP about it and make sure they investigate it to be on the safe side. But I just wanted to share what I had found out, and let you know that you are not alone.

Also, Lissie, I didn't know about your June MC and just wanted to say how sorry I am.

Hi Lissie since my 2nd ec my periods were a lot more painful and lighter strangely. as you know i am having a laparoscopy in Nov which is to look into this. Scarring etc can cause this. When you have your appointment make sure you tell them this I think they need to have a good look to see exactly whats going on. I know you had the hsg but this wont show up any scarring etc. I really hope they give you some answers soon. I hope your still enjoying your course and taking advantage of all those lovely massages etc.

thanks for all your answers. i will speak to my gp about it and mention it to my specialist on monday. its just been freaking me out a bit now tbh. ive always been so regular and straightforward that this has taken me by surprise a bit.

when they removed my tube they did mention severe adhesions, could they have got worse due to the laparotomy then?

hi Lissie, I have had 3 mcs, the last one was this May. After my first two (one before having ds and one after) my periods went back to normal pretty much straight away and were exactly the same as before, but since my last mc I've had a lot more pain, my periods have been much heavier and more erratic and I spot about three days beforehand. I've put it down to too much hormonal disruption. I started having acupuncture for various reasons about two months ago and the second period I had after starting was much more normal so I think maybe my body is going back into balance again. Hope this helps. Given all you have been through I'd definitely have a word with your GP to see if there's anything they should be checking for. Like NormanBatesFletcher said, they owe you big time.

lissie my doc at the IVF clinic told me that your periods can change all the time and it's nothing to worry about. but its probably best to get it checked out. After my last lot of ivf it has taken me nearly seven months to get back to normal. so don't worry too much.

Oh, im so sorry for all your losses. I have had 3 mcs, I really feel they take alot out of you physically. Not just the miscarrying but being pregant several times in a small amount of time, even if the pregancies were early alot of things happen to yr body in that short space of time. Obviously having an ep is more truamatic for yr body.
In the space of 5yrs I had 5 pregancies and three operations, one of them being a major op. My periods were a mess and I was physically, I really felt like my body had had enough.
However it is still important to get it checked to make sure that nothing else is going ok. Hope you ok
