Hi all

We've used ov tests for the last 8 months with no success Sad and I've seen the dr and he reckons that I might be ovulating much earlier than the tests suggest Hmm so I've decided to give temping a go..... can anyone point me in the direction of a good dummies guide or pass on any handy tips?

Thanks in advance
Lx

So, first things first get a bbt! Not just a normal thermometer. And an app to put the temps in to (there are loads about, just depends what you get on with best. Do you use an app to track cycles already?)

Take your temp at the same time every morning right when you wake up before you even move. If you're a good sleeper I'd suggest setting an alarm for half an hour or an hour before you usually get up, pop it in and drift back off and then read it when you wake up. If you're a light sleeper you might struggle with that if you can get back to sleep though. If you've been stirring for a while before you do it then it won't be as accurate. You can do it vaginally or orally but I think most people just stick with orally! (I did too)

That's about it, off you go!

You're looking for a visible temp rise for at least 3 consecutive days to confirm ovulation but the app should tell you that anyway and will make a line across when it thinks ov was so you can see before and after.

Good luck!

Thanks!! I was wondering where you took your temperature Blush I think I'll give it a good this month and see what happens. I am about cd5 at the mo and don't normally ovulate until cd19/20 so will start as soon as I can. Lx
