Egg quality?

I think I ovulated on CD11 this month. I'm getting old (38) so wondered if this is a sign of poor egg quality?

I've had 1 ectopic and 4 miscarriages - one at 11 weeks. I've had all tests at the recurrent miscarriage clinic and all came back fine.

I'm basically worried about early menopause.

Hi Kiri,

I've always ovulated early around days 11/12 and had 26 day cycles.

DD1 was conceived on the second cycle when I was 33 and DD2 on the first cycle (although my cycle was longer then as it was my first period after pg).

I still have 26 day cycles now (age 40). I don't think it's age-related.

Are you ttc1? What is your normal cycle length? How close together were your MCs?

Hi Allium,

If I ever manage to get / stay pregnant it'll be my second although I had my son 20 years ago. My cycles are regular and normally 28 days. I had quite a lot going on over the last few months so I'm wondering if my shorter cycle was stress related but I'm becoming very conscious of my age so any changes in my cycle always make me worry.

My first 4 miscarriages (including the ectopic) were in the space of 2 years and my mmc was about 4 years later.

It could be stress. So your cycles used to be 28 days. How long are they now? Are you using opk or temping so you know when you ov?

I've only had the one short period so will have to wait and see how long this month lasts. I'm on CD21 at the moment.

We aren't actively trying and so although I have temped in the past, I haven't recentlyz we are now 'not preventing' so I might temp next month to see when I ovulate as I think that's probably the most accurate way, do you think?

Yes it's a really good way of knowing when you ov, along with the opks.
