This is a thing. You do it every other day starting on CD8, then when you get +ve OPK you do it that day and the next two. You have a "rest" day (ha!) and the next day do it once more for luck.

Anyone tried this? We went for it every day for a week last month and I think it knackered DH's swimmers. And the romance.

Going to give this a go along this month with copious amounts of Conceive Plus...

I didn't try this but on honeymoon we had sex twice a day and it worked. Sometimes more is more Grin
Worth a go.

Yes, I did this both times I got pregnant (mc first at 6 weeks, now almost 9 weeks) and seemed to work! I've had a total of 4 cycles ttc: first one after coming off pill didn't have a clue about cycle days, 2nd month did SMEP and got pregnant, 3rd cycle after mc my cycle was long and messed up, 4th cycle followed SMEP and got pregnant again.

You can download the free ebook that explains the rationale behind it from Amazon (for kindle or other devices) - it is basically as you described but recommend you read the book anyway as it is useful for context.

Yep we did this first month of ttc with DS and got preg straight away. Sadly my cycles have gone all wonky now and it hasn't worked this time (on cycle 7 ttc no2. Good luck!

I know several people who used it and it worked. Helps because if (like me) you ovulate earlier than you think you'll likely have timed the business correctly.

Gotta be worth a try.

FWIW the month I got my BFP we only did it once, on count day 11. So earlier than most sources would suggest.

We tried an extended version of basically sex CD6 then every day from CD8-15 with ov CD14. Was our third and most intense month and worked for us.

There was little romance involved......one evening was 10 mins before a friend was due to arrive and then half an hour after she left the following day before I went out for the night.

For the majority of healthy men, that amount of sex will be no problem for their swimmers. Good luck!

Hi ladies, I'm assuming you start from cd8 if you have an average 28 day cycle? When do you start of your cycle is 43 days?! Shock

Report
MrsPCR · 13/08/2015 18:03

Well I'm a 28 day cycle with ov CD 14. I therefore started SMEP 20 days before my period so maybe try the same? Perhaps start a couple of days early just in case.

I'm going to try this next month, if I don't turn out to be pregnant this month. We've just had sex every day for seven days, and it was all a bit much!

We have done SMEP for last couple of cycles and told the Dr at the fertility clinic yesterday. Her response was we should basically start did as soon as AF is over; try every 2-3 days until ovulation then daily for 2-3 days then back to every couple of days for another week.

That's our plan for the next cycle if nothing comes of the current cycle!!

Okay I know this is bad but all I keep thinking is that when you have a long cycle that's a lot of sex Shock

Day 12. Negative OPKs so far - not even a flashing smiley. Feeling a bit anxious but will DTD tonight. Managed Day 8 and 10 so far this cycle. Not quite as bad as doing it every day which was last month's tactic!

Sorry for slow reply -busy weekend!

CM was EW on days 11, 12, 13 and I finally got a flashing smiley yesterday, day 13. I got a solid smiley this afternoon, day 14. The three days starts here!

I was still getting nothing on the strips but hopefully the clear blue digital is more reliable.

Cycle has got a bit longer since miscarriage so now about 27/28 days.

I'm fed up of peeing on sticks now...

Followed the plan exactly. FF doesn't think I've ovulated though as my temp chart is a bit of a mess. Who knows.

I feel like I'm facing yet another 2ww that will end with the usual disappointment and depression before the whole cycle starts again. And in the meantime a literal barrage of pregnancy announcements at work and from friends.

Sigh.

Yes i think so. I read the full e book (free to download on Kindle ) and it has a sound basis so is a good an approach as any.

I think even when you get everything right there is still only around a 30% chance of conceiving - I had no idea the odds are so low!

Not going to temp this month as it did my head in. This is my trying to "relax andnandand not think about it" - such is the not very helpful advice people keep giving me post miscarriage...
