I havent used these before so need some advice!
Now i know it is only positive when darker than control line but would the normal pattern be that you get a line and over a few days it gets darker and darker until positive?
First two days i had no test line. Today i have a line but not as dark as control so negative (but is a line of any sort an improvememt??) and have ewcm today.

Help!!

Hello
I usually start my OPK's from CD10.
I don't start to get any lines until CD12/14 - Gradually getting darker.
I never really had any strong OPK positives with my line being darker than the control line with the strips so I bought a Clear Blue Digi so far no problems determining where I am in my cycle.

If you have EWCM then I would DTD every other day until you get a positive - then every three days as much as possible.

If your OPK's are getting darker keep doing them.

Basically the SMEP. (Sperm meets egg plan)

CD23 here! So waiting and twiddling thumbs until I can test.

Don't be alarmed if you don't get a positive until a bit later. I was getting positives on CD21.

I was until I lost a bit of weight Confused

I always started doing mine on about CD12 and usually got my positive about CD14. Keep at it, tomorrow's should be darker.

Well today is cd14 and i got a positive darker than control line woohoo!!! Also have bit of ovary type twitchy pain which i always get around ovulation. No sign of any ewcm but never been abundant in the stuff ever so not expecting it to appear now at 38! Feeling pleased with the positive opk for now!! Crossing fingers Smile

So had a faint line cd12 and darker than control cd14. Today cd15 completely blank not even the hint of a line. Also have dried up in the fango department. Slight rise in temp this morn but thought maybe down to being away from home in a much warmer room.
Is it normal to go from positive darker than dark to completely blank the next day?

Help!!!

Yes I would say that's entirely normal.

fivemonkeys and would you assume from that that you have ovulated?

Sorry I missed your reply. No I wouldn't assume it but it's likely if your periods are regular and a decent length. A detected surge is absolutely no guarantee of ovulation. But useful along with other signs e.g. EWCM, also no guarantee. Only way to track ovulation has occurred is after event by tracking daily BBT.

Temp went up 24 hrs after positive opk and has remained up past the coverline since. Also had ovary twitchy pain so reckon i have ovulated! Lack of ewcm but i never had much ever even when young!!

What are you using to track temp? I've read a few people on here use FF and they seem to think it is very good. Going to start temping and using that app myself this cycle.

I have just drawn a chart up in a note book! I was a family planning nurse many years ago (feeling very old, this was 15 yrs ago!!) so quite easy for me to draw and plot on a chart.
My temp before ovulation was consistently below 36°c usually around 35.6-8 and since ovulating has been 36.2-4. I put my coverline at 36. So far seems accurate.

I was sceptical about the opks. Have never used them. However impressed that they worked textbook style for me this month with a positive on cd14!!

Being 39 i need all the positive signs i can get!!

How long have you been ttc fivemonkeys, how old are you? (Sorry is that cheeky!!)

It all sounds very positive. Nice that your cycle seems textbook. Good luck! Haha not cheeky at all! I'm 37 and been trying for almost a year. Had positive opks every cycle for six months, same time but cycles are 20-23 days (9/8 LP based on surge) Blood this month (bog standard cycle) showed no ovulation, waiting for other results and will push for a referral. Going to start temping soon as, wish I had from start but no issues with first DC.

I have a feeling i might have low progesterone as i have starting spotting 3 -4 days before my period last few months
I also had spotting in each of my pregnancies (5 pregnancies but only 3 went to term) With the 3 that went to term spotting stopped when the placenta took over around 12 weeks. I think this is another sign of low progesterone. I have actually bought some progesterone cream which i have been using since cd16 because it was only then i was confident i had ovulated. I know there is a chance i font actually need it and could have gp do bloods but I just feel time isnt on my side and as I have 3dc already i think gp might think its hardly a pressing matter.

Have strange tummy feeling tonight (hyper aware of how i am feeling, obviously EVERYTHING is attributed to pregnancy!)

Why does it feel like I ovulated weeks back not just 4 days ago??! Grin

Oh that's do annoying, wrote post and it deleted instead of post. Smart phones grr! To summarise bloods at GP should be fairly quick if you've been at it at least 6 months. How long you been trying? Think it's referrals that take time in our area. Have you tried vit b? Meant to help with spotting, progesterone, short LP etc. Take it as a complex though so B50 first then maybe B100. Not sure how it would go with your cream though, you'd have to check that. Or agnus castus but that's a bit controversial and maybe but much for some spotting.

I haye when that happens! I actually typed out a big response on another thread and just before i hit post my phone battery died!! No warning just boom!!

It was actually after taking agnus cactus for 5 months for terrible pmt that the spotting started. Could be coincidence but i had never had that before and then tried agnus cactus for 5 mnths, it didnt realky help enough with pmt to justify the cost so stopped it. Then i started having this spotting before periods. Weird!! I will look into vit b. Thought about it before and i do try and up my vit b in my diet in summer anyway as apparently it helps put the midgies off biting you!! Would be worth trying for that reason alone!!
Have only just started ttc so this is really the first 'serious' month! Just feel an urgency with my age. We were pretty sure we were done and sticking to 3 but on the way to 39 i started feeling my choice would soon be taken from me and made me realise i really did want another. I love being preg, loved giving birth, breastfeeding, having a little person in general!!
If i have no luck ttc over next few months i will go see the gp. I dont want to leave it too late.
How old is your dc fivemonkeys ?
