hi ladies
i know quite a few of you on here, well yes after 8 months of trying after our 1st miscarriage im pregant over the moon only 5 weeks so very scared it will happen again but im under strict orders to put my feet up and rest and i am not goin to argue with that x
i had been using ovulation sticks by clearblue for the whole 8 months digital and normal ones with no sucess then i read about a lady on here who bought the clearblue fertility monitor, i had a chat with hubby and even though it was £99 we decided to try it, it turns out even the ovulation sticks had been gettin it wrong and telling me i was ovulation 4 days before i was, with the monitor you wee on the stick every day and it tells you when to try and hey presto 1 month of trying and it worked, i just wanted to share that with you cause i know how heart breaking it is every month, so if you can anyway get on i would say give it a go we was spending £20 a month on ovulation sticks anyway and you can always use it for baby 2 and 3 or even 4 eh!
good luck ladies xxxxxxx

Super news about your BFP.
How good to have a genuine reason to rest..........make sure you do.

nadinetd, that's great news and you have spurred me on to buy one this month too, been ttc for 10 months now. I've used opk's too and haven't been successful do you think the monitor is different? Does it tell you a specific day to try or do you just bd the whole time you get a 'high' reading? Have you taken anything else, eg supplements or natural rememdies? Very interested!!
Anyway, good luck and enjoy your pregnancy.

Janus.......the CBFM tells you two PEAK days along with the HIGH days before (and one after).
The OV sticks only tell you when the peak day(s) would be so this way you maximise your chances by knowing the good days before as well.

Here's hoping it works for lots of us eh?

I've just ordered one to pick up in a moment from my nearest Boots, and although the fertility monitor is £99, is it true you have to buy the sticks seperately. I just assumed from nadinetd that all you pay is the £99.

Do you know how many sticks you get in a pack? I want to stock up ready!

Thanks

20 sticks in a pack (for £20 I think). And I think it makes you use all 20 in month 1. And then it should be - depending on your cycle length - 10 sticks each month.

If you haven't picked it up already, have you tried ebay? I bid and lost on a few so paid the £62 'buy it' monitor rather than keep bidding, still much cheaper than boots. I also bought 2 packs of stick from there for £35, again saving £5. May be worth a look?
Thanks for the info Coggy, that does help as my partner travels a lot and often found got positive when he was away and didn't always manage to bd before he went, now I can cover a few more days it seems! Thanks.

Hi everyone. An enouraging new thread for me as I unwrapped my new clearblue fertility monitor this evening. I agree that the cost is very high but I decided to ask dh for it as an early christmas pressie. I am CD8 and was going to start using it today but it is more adviseable to start on CD1 so will wait until Dec.
I also bought some first response sticks as I don't have and positive OV tests to confirm our hopes that I am ovulating .
Happy weekend everyone

I guess that you've read your bumpf by now Cityangel..........you can start using it up to CD5 I think but not beyond as it wants wee data from CD6 onwards for your first cycle.

Lots of us then starting out using one over these few months.........
