Conception

CD17, tender boobs and period-like cramps. Advice needed!

I'm posting on here because, even though I don't think I'm pg, I'm having certain symptoms that here on the Conception board you might understand and be able to help me with.

I'm on CD17 of cycles that usually last 27-31 days. We're not actively ttc; are happy to add to our family of 2dcs and last had unprotected sex on CD10.

The problem is that my breasts are unbearably tender and uncomfortable, and I've been having menstrual-like cramps. Both things are what one might expect up to one week before AF, but not two!

It was like this last month and I had a heavy period that lasted 6 days. I'm dreading the discomfort the next two weeks will bring, and I'm anticipating another heavy period.

Does anyone have any idea why my cycles have gone like this?

TIA

Hi Molotov

We're you on bc before? If so maybe your cycles are still getting back to normal?

I'm sorry, I don't really know any other reasons, unless you're pg, but didn't want to read and run! X

I get very sore boobs on about cd 17 after ovulation some months and it lasts until AF arrives. I only used to get sore a few days before AF but now it varies! X

Thanks both for getting back to me.

I haven't been on BC for ages - about 6y. I'm 32yo and had dd2 almost 3y ago and once my periods settled, have been quite regular and manageable. The breast tenderness has been getting worse over the last 6m, same with the period-type cramps. They're not as bad as a period cramp, but I do get noticeable discomfort for a couple of weeks before AF. I had a straightforward ELCS with dd2 - I wonder if that might be worth mentioning?
