Appointment with the GP tomorrow to ask for some blood tests to check progesterone levels - Which days do the blood tests need to be done?

For those of you with loads of knowledge in this, I need some help please...

Been TTC DC2 for nearly a year (one MC in between) and I am on CD9 (normally OV on CD16). For the last few months I have had spotting from DPO9/10 through until AF starts on DPO14 and I'm really worried that this may be having an impact on getting PG.

I'm 39 and I'm very conscious that I feel like I'm running out of time. I have read that spotting can be a sign of Progesterone problems so when I go to the GP tomorrow, which tests do I need to have and what cycle days do I need to have them?

I'm hoping that I may be in time this month, although understand that it might have to be next month .

Progesterone bloods are taken 7 days after ovulation. Commonly known as day21 tests because the "average" day to ovulate is day14 but if you ovulate on day16 then you need to book it in for day 22 I think. The doc may also want to do day 1-4 test as this measures levels of other hormones.

Thank you Quiet. When say 1-4 tests, do you mean CD1-4 or do you mean DPO1-4.

Not that I don't trust the GPs at my surgery, but I like to be fore-armed with information . Thanks again.

Yep, 7 days after ov is when progesterone should peak, so around CD23 in your case I would say.

The standard first tests are the prog test and LH/FSH tests around days 2-5 of the cycle. Some drs test other things too (mine added a general blood screening).

Sorry, yes it's day 1-4 of your cycle so when you start your period.
