Not started a new Fred before but hope it is successful for us as we are going to get our BFPs, either by traditional rat smacking activities or using the power of medical science.
Ladies I do declare WE WILL GET THERE - FACT !!!
Ok, these are the ones I can remember
Multivit, general
Zinc
Vit c
Macca
El arginine
Coenzyme q 10
Celery extract
Horny goat weed
Goji berries
El cartinine
These are a mixture of antioxidants, and things to increase blood flow to the area (other side effects too!! Iyswim). We don't know which of these had the impact though, so he's stuck on the lot! He used what ltd scientific evidence there is.
There's something else too, but I can't remember what. Will look when I'm home on Wed.
Oh, and so we are going all find blazing till July, as much of the cost is covered by insurance, and so once we move home it'd either be expensive or we would need to wait.
Shameless place marking x
Keepingitgoing - how did you know about your womb lining? From a scan? I've been put directly on 100mg (even though I ovulate) and not been offered a scan.
Round 2 of clomid tomorrow, bring it on!!!
Interesting re your husbands SA changing. Mine is taking a multivit inc selenium and zinc but nothing else. We have been offered another SA but we said no as were worried it might be lower next time.
Yes, a scan. You must be scanned. Mine was much too thin to support a pregnancy, on 50mg.
I've seen very limited success of clomid in women who already ovulate, so you need to make sure its helping not hindering. Are you under a consultant? How many months did they give you? Check the NICE guidance, I think it says about scanning, and quote it at them if it does.
Also, I'd go for the sperm analysis, three months after the first. If its worse you may get treatment quicker. They do vary a lot.
Scarlett!! When are you starting your ivf round? Glad you clearly still lurk here...
They put me on clomid too Soph even though I ovulate normally with no scans either. It didn't make any difference obviously considering I'm still here but looking back I think it was just a ruse to buy time which I don't think they should have done. I asked the consultant at the time how likely it would work for someone for me and they said it didn't really increase our chances but worth giving a shot
As Keep said I would go for the repeat SA too.
By the way Keep are you taking maca too? I've read a lot about how it can increase egg quality but I also read how it can change your cycle so was in 2 minds in taking it.
<snigger at horny goat weed>
Hiya keep I'm still about
Starting on next cycle, AF was due today
once it arrives it'll be four weeks from then as I've fairly standard 27-28 day cycle so end of Feb. At nurses appt the consultant had put down 300 units of stims but the nurse asked if we wanted to go full dose [i said yes] and got another consultant to sign off the higher script so we are going all out for this round!
I understand , brooking is a good thing will join thread in a few months
keepingitgoing - I have an appt with the consultant 12th (CD 17). What CD do they scan at?
Solars - really? I'm beginning to think maybe she was trying to buy time with me too. Do you / DH have any other potential reasons why you're struggling?
Coming just to say hello so I don't miss those BFPs which will happen, because we are all Brookers! Nice to see some new faces as well!
Argh I'm late to the party! <drags out copious bottles of wine of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety, olives, pringles, nachos, sausages rolls, onion rings and cocktail sausages>
Thank you for the new fred sweetie, much appreciated.
Hello to the new peeps, hope you stick with us because it absolutely guarantees your BFPS. Miracles are our specialty on these freds
keep thank you for your list of what MrK has been taking. I read it out to MrG, and he immediately wanted to know what horny goat weed was! I think I have a taker
He's also promised to cut back on the alcohol, which is good given for the last week and a bit he's been right off it with the D&V. Speaking of which, I really hope you aren't suffering too much you poor thing <hugs> Those oral thingies really do taste vile, I tried one of MrG's. The smell is so deceptive, you think they will be fab them bam! Someone threw in a bucket load of salt and grimmed it all up. Really hope you feel better soon. On the plus side, no AF on the day she should have turned up - well, you know how that ended up for sparks!
I can't remember what anyone else has written
solars hope you are keeping well
<waves to maybe, sweetie, sparks, boo, bartlet, beedle, scarlett and everyone else with huge apologies for everyone I have missed - the weekends are normally predictably quiet round here, so I didn't bother coming in!>
I have had a really awful nights sleep and really could do with going back to bed! I'm sitting here in front of the computer screen totally unmotivated and with a long list of things to do by today!! Arghhh!
Soph we're still classed as unexplained however our ivf cycle highlighted a couple of issues firstly they found an endometrioma on one of my ovaries, funnily enough I had never been scanned prior to the ivf cycle, or else it could have been picked up and dealt with sooner (I have since had it removed and no other endometriosis was found). Secondly they suspect that DH may have antisperm antibodies although they wouldn't test for it and said we still have a chance naturally which I'm not entirely convinced about Because we were classed as unexplained and hadn't quite reached the 3 year mark for ivf at the time they gave us the clomid, bit of a waste of time in my opinion looking back.
Geek glad to hear MrG is better, hope you are too Keep
Solars i agree, exactly the same here. Am so shattered, could curl up for a nice nap under my desk.
keep how you feeling today? Still poorly sick or more road to recovery? Don't worry I won't leave any food for you to vom on.
Morning all.
Solars I'm with you on the no sleep front. I can't remember the last time I had a good sleep. Think the stress of everything is keeping me awake. What made them think there were antisperm antibodies?
Keep how are you feeling? Any sign of AF? I'm hoping not.
Geek have you recovered from the farm?!
Welcome Soph and see you in a few months Pearly
Lovely to see you Scarlett brilliant news about the next round. How you feeling about it all?
Lovely to see you too Bartlet Can't be long now
Hope your granddad is doing ok Cups and that interview prep is going well!
Wednesday isn't too far away now Face hope you're hanging in there.
<yawn> Sweetie book out a meeting room for a quick nap perhaps? By the way have you had your sticky blood test yet?
Oh Maybe is it the stress of finding work or this whole ttc business? Have you tried relaxation CDs? They sometimes work for me, unless DH is particularly restless too, then were both screwed like last night
When they were preparing the sperm for our ivf and took the sperm out the centrifuge they found they were all 'clumping' together which they said is a sign for antisperm antibodies. From what I've read if they did a test they could tell us the percentage and also whether the antibodies were sticking to the head or tail, each is bad as it makes them slow to reach the egg but head is worse as it can effect the head burrowing in the egg.
I think its more work Solars though it's probably the two combined! I've never tried a relaxation CD. May be something to have a look at. Is there anyway you can get the sperm tested? Would it make a difference if you went for ICSI?
We think they'll do the test at the next clinic. It doesn't make a difference if we're going for ICSI but I just think both of us were hoping deep down for a natural conception and I for one think its the antibodies which may be a factor, oh and my age too. I guess I just want an answer as well to why things aren't happening. Brooking you get that job soon, Maybe Any interviews lined up? Is what you're looking for quite specific? That I guess can usually take time.
I know what you mean about the natural conception bit Solars I think it took a while for us to get our heads around the fact that that will never happen for us. But once we did, it made things easier.
I have a few interviews lined up and have had a phone interview. The whole process seems to take so much time! I want to get into medical writing, but am also looking at other science/health jobs too. There just isn't an awful lot around for newbies!!
Sorry to disappoint, cd1 here...
Scarlett snap, I will start in 28 days too. Think we've decided on sp for round one, as duh is away part of April and I can't take the stress of wondering.
soph I think it would ideally be pre-ov, so cd17 might be too late, but oi guess they can still measure the lining then. For me with iui it was Pre iui.
I've not taken macca, solars. Don't want anything to mess with my cycles at the mo. If ivfs fail and I'm still here in the summer I'll look into it, thanks! Dh has been more focused on his sperm, which have a diagnosed issue, than me...
Horny goat weed increases blood flow. More morning (and other times) glories
go for it geek
Bit better today...
So sorry it's CD1 Keep but great that you have a plan in place for 28 days time. Glad you are feeling a bit better, be kind to yourself today.
Right I have done some work now, just a couple of more things to do and then I'm done for today <wonders if I can get a nap in before making supper...>
Maybe it is really tough to get that around your head, you've done so well, but you will get there and you are still very young so lots of chance for things to work out. Gosh and job hunting is very difficult at the moment. Good luck with the interviews x
Keep sorry about AF but I'm sure the ivf is going to give you your result and glad you're feeling better x
Aw keep so sorry to hear af has arrived. Look after yourself. I did sp ivf and didn't have any problems.
Solars i haven't had a nap either, gggrrrrrrr at work getting in the way
Maybe strangely we also found peace after being told we cannot get there on our own, sort of took the pressure off. You are only a young wipper snapper and you will get there.
I worked out my dates based on what I know about when my cycle will be and I am on for a Christmas day baby. So I will be sneezing while you all tuck into your turkey. Not that I am getting ahead of myself or anything
One more iui for me before ivf. 12% chance...
I'll have a Christmas day baby too please, like stacks!
maybe I'll be job hunting heavily pregnant in August!
sweetie I was more fretting that dh would have to be away at the critical time in April. But yes, I've read there are fewer side effects for sp.
Agree about the pressure being taken off by needing AC
Come on, Assisted Brooking Babies. Where are you?
keep sorry AF caught up with you grrr
sweetie I love your planning ahead and working out your due date already
maybe good luck with all those interviews. I'm sure one of them will be the perfect job for you.
Oh and welcome soph may your BFP be with you soon
And one more thing keep can you keep AF there with you, so she can't come to visit me this week. Ta muchly x
beedles, thanks but af came yest! round 2 clomid starts tonight
solars - going to insist on a scan but my next appt is 12th CD 17 so guessing it will be too late this month? x
