CBFMs...worth it?

Hi

After 18 months of trying for dc2 I'm facing the start of another cycle. We've tried charting which I just stressed over and opks, as well as just trying daily or every other day during my whole cycle, so I'm wondering whether or not to invest in a cbfm for this month. If I don't get pregnant this month or next we'll be back off the the fertility clinic so I want to get it right!

Are they worth the money or just another think to stress over?

I think if you've tried all of the things you mentioned in your op it's probably not worth it. We've got one because my cycles aren't as regular as I would like and DH gets worn out with all the swi otherwise! I'd get checked out I think if i were you.

If you know your cycle and it's regular it's probably not going to help any more that what you've been doing.

I used a CBFM and got a BFP pretty quickly and was glad to have it.

But then I hadn't been using OPKs, just charting temps, so the CBFM added something new, whereas your OPKs are doing roughly the same thing already AFAIK?

Thanks all. I've been checked out - bloods and scans all normal so far, but I can't get any more on the NHS because I've got dd and I had a mc last feb so keep being told that technically I haven't actually been trying for 18 months...so frustrating!

If you do get one, buy it on eBay, will be far cheaper than buying online - it's what I did.

I buy the sticks on Amazon or eBay too, don't bother buying them in boots.

I'm similar that we've been trying for ages with no avail, it doesn't stress me out more, gives me a bit of a focus and it's always nice to see the bars raising, makes you feel like you are doing something right! Lol
