Ewcm is clear and stretchy. Semen isn't.

I have wondered this. The day after I SWI or any S for that matter the semen emerges identical to EWCM. It's very annoying as I don't really know when we can stop. ALthough as I am almost 100% unlikely to get pg it doesn't really matter I suppose...

You'll notice it if you get it. Mine is nothing like semen. And perhaps I'm unusual but semen doesn't hang around long enough for me to confuse it with mucus. I wait half an hour before showering but I always shower afterwards and it's then gone.

peanuthead definitely like ewcm? Clear and stretchy? Like raw egg white?

ah my semen hangs about for ages. still get some the next day. i suppose thats good for reaching where it needs to reach! it wasnt like egg white though, bt i wondered if it would all intermingle and then look like just cloudy mucus

Mine hangs around to next morning to, sometimes Ive been confused but whilst the semen stretches a wee bit I tend to find it doesnt stretch as much as EWCM.

Def, hairy. Think I'm the one that's a bit odd. I blame Dh - never had this with previous partners (although thinking about it we must have used condoms so don't know....) There's never any semen at all afterwards then the next day or the day after I have a lot of v stretchy v clear mucus. Exactly like EWCM. Mine has been gone for a while and every time we do it I think oh hooray it's back oh hang on didn't we just do it in the last few days....

I actually think the semen makes my natural secretions turn into stuff like EWCM rather than it actually being the semen IYSWIM.

God, so depressing what TTC does to ones dignity!

I've leant my Taking Charge of Your Fertility book to a friend but there's something in there about this - something like if you drop it into a cup of water, CM will form a ball but semen will just disperse

This did make me laugh as I was actually thinking the same thing this morning. Before TTC I could always tell when I was about to ovulate with the EWCM. Now I have no clue. DH "stuff" def still around the day after and it doesn't look like EWCM (seems much runnier - TMI!!?) so this time, on our attempt at TTC since a MC, I have no idea if I've even ovulated!!!!

oh will try the water thing. that's really useful. must get that book but as have been told i haven't got any viable eggs it seems a bit pointless. but I still live in hope....

I'll just have to make sure not to leave the cup of water lying around afterwards in case DD drinks it....or DH. Sorry, that's not really a thought to put out there is it?

I find it difficult to tell when we are having a lot of SWI around the relevant times. On months when we were not, I would get a v clear EWCM day (before I had any clue what it was or what it meant!).
