I don't know if this is just coincidence or not but thought it worth posting.

I have fallen pregnant on 3 different occasions after using a Mooncup to ensure the swimmers don't escape and stay in "the area" as long as possible. Actually, the first time I used a diaphragm (VERY obviously not one that has been used previously with spermicide!) and the last two times with the Mooncup. This was my 2nd month TTC this time, but the first month trying with this method - as were the 2 previous BFPs. Just thought it might be worth a mention.

Oh, and while I'm here I would also like to mention for all those fretting about EWCM. I haven't had this for at least the last 3 times I conceived so, although it is helpful in aiding conception it is still possible to get pregnant if it's scant.

thanks havingkittens that is really useful advice. I don't have a mooncup but maybe it would be worth a try>? I am a bit scared about the whole inserting it though... they look a bit.... frightening Confused

I also seem a bit lacking in the EWCM, and still managed to conceive DD so it obviously is possible. I wonder if perhaps there was mucus "up there" but it never made it to where it is visible IYSWIM.

I'm not sure. I suspect the EWCM scarcity is something to do with my age as I definitely remember having it when I was younger.

The mooncup takes a little practice but fine once you get the hang of it. There are a couple of different methods to folding it for insertion. The method where you push one side inwards and down to make the rest of the edge into a sort of 'point' works best for me followed by a gentle gyrating action to help it pop into place Grin. Just don't forget to trim off the stem otherwise you will get rather chafed! For removal, bearing down is helpful rather than trying to turn yourself into a glove puppet trying to retrieve it.

I Grin'ed at the "gently gyrating" and the "turning yourself into a glove puppet" Grin You're not selling it to me!

I probably didn't label this thread very well. If I'd have added the words "to increase chances of conception" it may have been of more help to more people. Shame, people probably saw the title and thought I was some mooncup wielding hippy posting in the wrong section Wink but I don't know how to edit it.
