Please tell me this is a false hope and I'm being stupid!

I had got my hopes up this month as DH and I had BD'd several times across the time I know I OV;d. Then I was late - got to 42 days (I normally have a long cycle so this was only a week late), no normal AF symptoms which seem to mimic pg so sore boobs etc. but didn't have that this month. Since day AF was due so for a week, I had had mild cramps that felt as if AF was about to start and been feeling sick and losing my appetite.
So when AF came on Fri day 43 I was really upset. Had what I would describe as medium flow Fri and Sat (sorry if TMI!) but no new blood and only light brown spots since yesterday evening. Also feeling sick last night and again this afternoon. So now I am stupidly getting my hopes up again because I know some people have had period like bleeding when they were actually pg. Please tell me I am being stupid and shouldn't even consider getting a test!

Well - I did get what I thought was AF but it was a week early and lasted a couple of days (so I guess it was implantation bleeding). Then I got a bit more spotting a week later. I was convinced it was just a weird AF but it tailed off and I still had really bad cramps and sore boobs - so I eventually tested and was pg.

But then there were loads of similar occasions where I was spotting and then got AF. TTC is weird.

Have you been trying for long? It took me 18 months btw

Maybe hang on for another day and see what happens? Horrible getting negative results from test!

Yes I've been trying for about 18 months as well.

When you got what you thought was AF was it as heavy as your normal AF bleeding? I'm sure I'm not pg but just can't get rid of that last little hope now bleeding has stopped. DH is away so I could do a test and no one would ever know - I could go and get one tomorrow...

I think it was as heavy as the first day usually was (as in I used a tampon). The real sign though was that the bleeding stopped but I still had all the PMT symptoms - as if I was still going to come on if you see what I mean.

How are you feeling today?

I actually have sore boobs now which I didn't before but it may just be that I am thinking abou it. I did have a little more bleeding later on yesterday. No cramps now though. Just not sure but thinking it is more and more likely that I'm not pg. If I continue to get symptoms after another few days I may try a test just in case.

I thought it was my period because there was a bit more bleeding later on, but now my boobs are sore and I have had to take off my bra! I also have cramps again today and have been a bit off food in general although not really feeling sick. So now I am really confused! Know that I can't really be pg but have never had any symptoms after having a period before.

I still have sore boobs and feel as if my bra is too small. Have told OH and he got a test at the supermarket, but I am really scared to take it now because I know at this point (7 weeks after last period and having had bleeding last week) if it is a BFN I can't blame it on being too early etc. I'm just not pregnant.

Anyone else found out they were pregnant after having what they thought was a period?

I haven't had experience of this, but... as you know, the reality will not change whether you look or not. You are either pregnant or you are not. So be brave! May as well be now.
