Tender Breasts from Ovulation to AF?

Hi Ladies,

I came off the pill in September '09 and started actively TTC in January. Things were completely haywire at first; my first two normal periods were extremely heavy and I had the most debilitating pains. Then I had a random 48 day cycle, and now they have pretty much settled out at 33-34 days.

For the past 4 cycles or so, my breasts become very tender a day or so before ovulation and remain that way until about 2 days before AF comes.

Does anyone else have this? I know many women experience tender breasts around the time of ovulation, and that it is also an early symptom of pregnancy (got my hopes up too many times over this!) Sad but just wondered how common it is.

P.S. How worried should I be at this stage that I still have not conceived? I was put on the pill at 14/15, after I had a very heavy period that lasted about 2 weeks. I collapsed and spent 3 days in intensive care and needed 2 pints of blood. After giving me some tablets to make my muscles contract to stop the bleed, and testing for leukeamia and other things, they put me on the pill and sent me on my way. I'm now worried that I have had some underlying problem that has gone unchecked for years. Sad

Hello cat, I get this too, though after a few months of disappointment that i wasnt pregnant I now see it as a positive thing as it helps me to be more aware of when im ovulating. I came off the pill around october last year after many years on it apart from when ttc and pregnant with dd. We had a few months break so my cycle could regulate and to give us a chance to change our minds! We have been actively ttc now for about 5 months but from what I can gather on the threads it can easily take 12-18 months or longer, good luck!

Yes I get it too. For me it is from ovulation until period arrives.I'm only a 32b and mine feel like boulders I have to hold myself when running up the stairs!! Many times I have also thought I've got pregnant as this was one of the symptoms when pg with dd. Been TTC for 2yrs now.
