I haven't seen much about this competition except that a winner has been chosen (congratulations!) - will there be a list of all the shortlisted books and why they were chosen? I'm sure this was mentioned when the comp was first promoted.

It would be good to know how they picked the winner and what stood out from her entry too. I know a lot of us spent many hours (weeks/months) preparing our entries so it would be nice to see some more information from the agents.

I was one of those shortlisted, and so selfishly would love to have a bit more information about the shortlist and how it was chosen. I only know that he winner was a crime novelist because someone pointed me at her Twitter feed...

I'd like to know too, even though I wasn't shortlisted.

I, too, spent many weeks getting my submission into top form as well as attending the get published day. It was so exciting to be part of a competition and when I found out I wasn't on the shortlist I was still looking forward to hearing the promised feedback on the shortlisted entries and ultimately being told all about the winning entry. I feel quite disheartened and disappointed that there has been no fanfare or congratulatory article about the winners (yes, I include the shortlisted in there). There was such excitement among the MN community, but it sizzled to nothing. Heaven knows how the winners feel! Congrats from me anyway x

Feedback on the shortlisted novels was promised I think. It would be so helpful for those of us who didn't get that far (and those who did) to know more about what made the shortlisted ones stand out. Bit puzzled by the silence now.

Hello all,

There appears to be a bit of confusion here for which we can only apologise. However, just to clear up a couple of things:

1/ All the shortlisted writers were contacted by J&N and congratulated
2/ We published the shortlist on MN and tweeted/facebooked etc.
3/ J&N are in the process of contacting all the shortlisted writers with feedback - as promised
4/ The winner has been contacted by J&N, congratulated and a meeting with the agency has been set up to discuss next steps
5/ We announced the winner on MN as promised and announced across social media

Congratulations again to every one who entered the competition – there were some terrific entries.

Hi Patrick, thanks for your reply. I wondered if you know when we might receive some feedback? I realise it's a busy time for agents but it's 5 weeks since the shortlisted titles were announced and I'd love a bit of direction on my novel-in-progress...whether positive or negative!
