7yo vision "sometimes goes black and white"

Ds mentioned last night at bedtime that sometimes he only sees in black and white and white and then it goes back to colour. He said the same again this morning watching tv. I've got no reason to disbelieve him. He's not concerned about it but I am!

Does anyone know what this might be? Or whether I should spend the day in A&E or hang on till I can a GP appointment next week?

Hi - I would get if checked out, definitely, but just to reassure you (I hope) - this used to happen to me when I was little too, generally as a prelude to migraine (tho I'm assuming he's not getting these). I used to get a sort of creeping fuzziness around the edges too, and things would get larger and smaller. Still happens a bit if I get overtired. Made me wonder as your ds said it before he went to bed and when watching TV, therefore tired, and maybe a bit of eyestrain?
