7 month old green nappies and bad tummy

Hi,

My 7 month old little boy seems to have had a really bad tummy for the past weeek. And I can't figure out how to help him.

We started weaning him about 6 weeks ago. And he seemed to be loving it. But now he seems to be off his food. Except for really sweet things like rice pudding. And he has also started refusing some of his milk feeds. He clamps his mouth shut and turns is head away.

And he does dirty nappies all the time. Accompanied by lots of farting! They are really noisy, but only contain a little bit of green watery stuff.

Does this sound like teething? I keep trying to persist with giving him porridge, sweet potatoes etc. But not sure if I should just give in and give him the sweet things he likes, cos I am worried he isn't getting much food in his little tummy.

He seems to be reasonably happy - just a bit more grumpy than normal. But I am worried he is going to start losing weight. He hasn't gained any weight in the last couple of weeks.

Any advice from more experienced mums would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, I would say to treat it like a tummy upset. Give him what he wants just try and make sure its high calorie. Plenty of fluids also. It should pass. If no change in a week then maybe go to docs. Or just mention it to your hv now.
