My 2 year old ds's cough started wednesday, but was so few and far between i wasnt worried and he then had his swine flu jab on the thursday. He woke friday morning coughing with a running nose and by friday night had a fever and wasnt interested in food. He asked to go to bed and then couldnt sleep for coughing until he threw up. We kept him up and he came to bed with us and got half a nights sleep. Saturday he had fever all day, and other than readybrek he wouldnt eat anything and hardly drunk anything all day. Last night he slept through ok thankfully and his temp has come down but he has been grabbing my fingers to chew on them so we are positive his back molors are coming through aswell. But again today he wont eat anything or drink much.

Do i bother the doctor or do i put it down to teeth???

My LOs always go off food when ill and it takes time for their appetite to build up again.

Sometimes they can't stomach anything dairy for a while after.

Just keep their fluids up as best as you can and offer plain ish food that they usually enjoy and even if they only have a bite or two, try not to worry I'd say. As long as they've got good fluid in take then that's the main thing.

If they are getting better and temperature is going down they're on the mend.

But if they start to get worse again, I'd definitely take back to GP.

Apply teething gel before offering food maybe? Just an idea...
