Hand Foot and Mouth,or something else?

Ds2 hasn't been himself for a few days.He's had very hot red cheeks for a couple of days,although no temperature.He also woke in the night which is unusual for him,saying his feet hurt,but there was nothing there.Have just been up to him as he was crying and again he says his feet hurt.Have looked and he has 2 very small white spots,one on each foot,under his big toes.
Have Googled HF&M but the spots seem to be red.Can't see any ulcers in his mouth and he's eating and drinking ok,but there has been a case of HF&M at his pre school.Have given him Calpol but he won't settle and he's downstairs,sitting on the sofa with dh.
Any idea's anyone?
