Is this just teething? Help!

Ds2 is 2 and a half. From Christmas eve he had a really high temp almost every night plus some days - took to Dr on 27th and told it was a 'virus'.

Not better and getting worse by 30th so went back, given antibiotics for ear infection (he had had a bad cold anyway) and thank goodness they have got rid of the temp. He has had a day or two feeling OK I think, ear no longer red, temp right down and had a daytime nap again which he wasn't able to do for a few days.

However last night he started to be unhappy again - no temperature, just would not let go of boob at all, till I gave calpol at about 1am, then finally went back to sleep - but woke again at about 3 and needed constant feeding, seriously till we got up at 7. Then he cried when we had to stop. I gave him about half a spoon of nurofen at 5am which did nothing.

I can SEE he has two tiny points of top back molar showing through, still - but could it just be this? I am going slightly off my tree here, have not had any proper sleep for well over a week and my nipples are getting sore. Plus the crying is just awful.

I can't think what else might be wrong. How long can teeth cause this type of thing for?

Heeeeeellllllllppppppppppp [falls off chair]

if they are the back ones ...they hurt more and take a bit longer. are they just white bunps or can you see the teeth yet....nurofen and calpol alternating will help
4 doses in 24 hours os calpol and 3 doses od ibuprofen)with or after food..not on an empty tummy)

Thanks Alypaly, have been doing that old routine

Yes can actually see the little sharp corners of tooth. I hope they give him a break soon.

It's good to have your reassurance.
