Any advice please - he's 26 months and needs antivirals but I don't know how to physically get them down his throat! He's not eating much and throws up a lot. Any suggestions?

There is probably no way he could possibly take a tablet in tablet form, thats why the vast majority of childrens meds come in syrup form. So all you can do is crush his tablets either with a tablet crusher (very cheap from the chemist) or between two tablespoons or if you hav a 'morter and pesttol', then add to something you know he will def take like a small petti folou or to a bottle of milk/juice (dont fill up,jus half to Make sure he takes it all quicker) make sure to stir well to dissolve and mix well or it will just settle in the bottom. my mum used to give crushed up in a teaspoon of jam or honey. Like poohbearsmum said, anything as long as they will eat it!

Is it prescription? Usually the GP will issue a solution version or advise you on how to take what he is prescribing...

If it's a small pill, I used to tuck it in a small spoonful of ice cream with strict instructions to swallow it right down without chewing. The slipperiness made it pretty easy.

tell him under no circumstances to swallow that magic pill on the table, then walk out the room
That should do it!
