Got a call last night from a friend who is certain her dd has CP, spots came out yesterday. We saw them on Thursday. DD has had a very high temp (40+ on sunday), which has been coming down day by day.

The big question is when can I safely say she hasn't got it? When she gets up this morning will have a through look although obviously have been keeping an eye out due to temp but nothing so far.

Would hate to pass it on to anyone else and am due to see an old friend on thursday who has recently been diagnosed with a serious ongoing med condidtion and she will be bringing her ds.

Thanks

the incubation period is 10-21 days so it could be up to 3 weeks before you know whether your dd has it. It took ds 14 days to come out with spots after dd had it. They are only contagious for 1-2 days before the spots arrive until they crust over which is 5-7 days after they start to appear so if you saw her on Thursday chances are she wasnt contagious at that point. I suppose it depends who the friend got them off of as they could have both been exposed to the same person and come out with CP at around the same time.

I've just got her up and she has quite a few faint red spots on her trunk and one big on her spin, but no fluid as yet. She's got it hasn't she.
