I don't think it's anything serious, but last winter he had bronchiolitis really badly, and it sounds the same again. I don't want to go back to the stage where we were mopping up his sick from him coughing so bad every night. Especially not at 6 months pg!

TIA! smile

I'd wrap him up and take him out for a short period. Not too long. And don't let him get cold.

My son caught pneumonia at 11 months when I took him out in the fog with a very, very slight cold.

Abraid - can't even imagine how scary that must have been for you. I think we will wrap up warm (even though he still refuses to wear gloves or a hat!!) and take a walk to the library!

I'd say fresh air but cautiously - my DD had a terrible cough/cold recently, was nearly gone and then I took her to the park (bundled up like the michelin man!) Cue another couple of weeks of hacking cough. Can you find a hat with a badge/motif on that your DS likes? - this has helped DD learn to love her 'train hat'!

At least it's not foggy today (not here, anyway). I think it was the fog as much as the cold which was the problem with my son.

It's not damp here at all - lovely and sunny, just cold.

He does love his pirate hat, but it's an actual pirate hat for dressing up IYSWIM and I was hoping he'd keep a woolly hat (preferably with ear flaps) on.

Then when I took my son up to the north of Scotland for Christmas, having had the pneumonia and then bronchiolitis, my in-laws could not understand why I didn't want him out in his pram in the fresh (and very cold) air for longer than about 10 or 15 minutes at a time.

In the end I had to explain that if you've had a serious lung inflammation each breath of cold air feels like surgical spirit on a sore. That's what the doctor explained to me.

Cue FIL talking about how they used to put TB patients in open-air wards even when it snowed.
I explained that pneumonia and TB weren't quite the same.

I'm all for fresh air (sleep with window open a little, etc) go for daily walks, etc, but...

I'd've been hard pushed not to just tell FIL to get fucked, personally, but that's probably just me! smile

Ds is snuggled up under a blanket on the sofa watching Curious George at the moment, showing no indication of wanting to go out! Maybe we'll leave it till after lunch! blush
