Hi all

My 20 month old has a lump in her neck. I'm taking her to doctor next week. But I'm so so worried.
Does anyone know what it could be?

TIA

Probably a swollen lymph node - is she unwell at the moment or had a cold recently?
My dd currently has one on her neck just below her ear.

My DS had a lump in his neck, right hand side a few years ago. It started after he had chickenpox, it lasted for months,
I was very worried so off we went to the doctor when it first appeared. she said it was an inlarged glad caused from the illness he'd had, she said it was pretty common. They sent he for a scan just to make sure, It just went down naturally.

Try not to worry, but definitely get her checked out. Xx

Definitely get it checked out but it's probably nothing at al to worry about. My ds developed a lump in his neck after his 12 week immunisations, a swollen lymph node, and it never went down! Now he's 12 and it's not noticeable because it hasn't grown with him iyswim?

Both mine have them, it's probably just a harmless lymph node. I have some I can feel in my own neck. My son has one that sticks out visibly, the size of a large grape. Had it scanned just in case but they said it was fine.

My DD has one in her neck and another in her armpit. We went to get it checked today. They're running blood tests as a precaution and referring her to paediatrics, but the Dr was confident it was nothing sinister as they are small and moveable.

I know how you're feeling. I've worried myself sick! Best to get it checked, but probably nothing.

Me and DS both have lumps in our necks; just big, visible glands, lymph nodes, whatever they're called.

Mind appeared after glandular fever and DS was born with his.

Thanks all. Feeling reassured. She has no other symptoms and is very happy.

My dd had one when she was 10 months old. I pretty much just popped out of nowhere.

She was absolutely fine in herself no temp nothing as soon as I noticed it I call out of hours who suggested going to children's hospital so we took her up there.

It turned out to be absess and she had to have a op to drain it, apparently it was filled with loads of puss.
She needed strong antibiotics and had to stay in a good few days.

Get it checked out to be safe
